Exactly, without them, the performance wouldn´t have been near as magical as it now is

It would be more like Austria last year for me then - enjoyable but not really something I'd vote for
I really hope Sweden does better in televote this year so people can stop raving all the time about Benjamin's televote result and the discrepancies between jury/televote

There is no doubt that John Lundvik will do better with the televote compared to Benjamin (and I will be very happy for him)... Which is the precise reason why I will keep "raving about Benjamin's televote result"... Because his jury vote is just outrageous and will still be, even after 20 years of time and possibly another 3 deserved Swedish victories.

I do think that we will do better in the televote this year, hopefully it can be enough to reach top 10 (:lt: got 10th place in televote last year only by recieving points from 11 countries)

I won't say anything for sure because I wasn't prepared at all that Benjamin would bomb such with the televote - but I think it looks good for John. I agree that a huge discrepeancy between juries and televote doesn't really look good, but I guess there will always be cases every year once this happens, so I think people gotta be fair and start highlighting other acts who do way better with the juries than the televote - like I haven't seen many people react to Netherlands 17 despite the huge difference lol

That being said - I think Benjamin's the one with the highest discrepeancy in the history and he represented Sweden so I get why this is a big case around these boards lol :p

I think last year suffered from being too polished - too professional - too perfect - a bit like I've heard journalists say about Isaiah 2017 with other acts
This year feels genuine with a lot of positive energy from John and the Mamas :D
I just wished he didn't do the same move all the time, but I'm willing to neglect the fact for John and the Mamas...

Am I the only one who thinks this might be a shock NQ? Don't get me wrong, the song is nice (and IMO best Swedish entry since 2014, entries between 2015 and 2018 were just awful) but I really think it doesn't stand out enough unlike the previous entries. Like, last few Swedish performances made up for bad songs but this reminds me more of :se: 2010.

It probably will do well in jury voting but I think :ch: :pt: :nl:  :ru: and :mt: have a chance to be higher and then I think it might flop in televoting. Any thoughts?

2010 was quite expected that we would miss the final.

:at: got 116p in the televoting in the semi last year with a simular song, add that there are no actual contenders to John that are fighting for the same kind of votes, but people have said that we would flop every year since 2014

I don't know, I don't think :at: 2018 was that similar. Also It doesn't always seem to work, in fact I remember people compared :ee: 2014 to :se: 2012 (lol) but :ee: 2014 failed to qualify. Also note the difference betweem :md: 2013 and :il: 2013, they were both ballads sung in native language but got completely different results. Maybe you are right, I guess we will have to wait and see.

It's a better song than that from 2010 though. I liked This Is My Life more than at least a coupleof later Swedish entries but it was very vanilla even for that year.

There's no way this is left in the semi-final :D
I'd say it's in serious contention to win its semi

No straw is too small for many fans to grab when it comes to dislike our entry each year, it´s very pathetic.

A tip to all "Sweden-haters" in here, if you are disliking our entry, try to come with relevant argumentation instead of all this exorbitant shit, how hard can it be? What´s the problem?

Ignore it - but if it makes you feel better this is one of the entries this year that I can listen to for an hour and still find it interesting xlove

I just dislike the fact that some people can't acknowledge the fact that some entries do well despite it's not their taste and then feel the urge to trash it or whatever
I mean sure I wish that some of my favorites did better last year compared to Sweden and Austria, but that doesn't mean that I need to shit on the countries that did well

I mean, some people here really feel entitled enough to say how juries should vote - how they should rank the song, what's allowed and what's not allowed but whenever someone questions their rankings they're like; no

Seriously, when you read the Swedish threads you'd think that they've conspired with Kim Jong-un to launch missile attacks or something in order to start a WWIII

so you're gonna put together your tinfoil hats and convince yourself everybody hates you or what ?

we get it, everybody hates Sweden, the country, the song, John, the grass that grows over there. Do you like other songs besides your own entry ? That would be a more positive way to post and share what you like. If we can agree that eveybody hates Sweden, you won't have to defend it anymore and could live your esc season in a more healthy way.

You just proved my point. I have many opinions of some songs but I don´t spit it out since there´s no point in doing that.

But many people in here goes very very far when it comes to our entry each year and that is what pisses me and many more Swedes in here off. Some arguments are just plain pathetic.

Well, the point of having a forum is sharing your opinions and discussing them, is it not? ;)

You always have some people disliking the song, because musical taste is subjective.
