I haven't been following the news but is that a common suspicion that the national jury votes were rigged?

It‘s common to suspect something is rigged, when you don‘ like the outcome.

It is irrelevant if I don't like the outcome. I just think all the juries giving one particular song their 12s in a year which companies like Netflix persistently use minorities, black people majorly, seems rather too coincidential. I wonder about the impressions that other people have, considering how hard Sweden tries to get what is the best.

I doubt Lundvik's win was the result of some obscure, politically correct agenda. If Björkmann wanted to have a Token Politically Correct Winner, then why downvote all of the Powerful Female acts? Also why am I even replying to this, the song is great, END OF. Well-sung, well-performed, etc, it totally fits within Christer's warped notion of what music should sound like (safe, methodical, sung by a handsome man, etc)

I don't particularly dislike the song. I am only questioning a suspicious voting. No need to get offended over a question.

No probs, bro. Your post just seemed to imply you think Lundvik won because of positive discrimination, rather than talent, but that's fine everyone makes a silly post from time to time.

The answer to your question is still no, though. If Christer had any politically correct agenda, he would've rigged it for, you know, the fifteen-year old levantine boy who finished runner-up to John. I don't think Too Late For Love is all that great either, but it definitely won because people loved it (and um also because of thirst) and not because of some other ulterior motive.

There is a difference between asking something and claiming something.
For the sake of that unnecessary reaction, this is my rating I posted just a week ago which I still stand for; http://escunited.com/forum/threads/18278-ESC-Ranking-2019?p=1891874&viewfull=1#post1891874

The song discussion section has turned into a cancerous place recently and this is not the first time my post has been taken out of context.

For starters, I geniuely don't think we need to get this immature, which is not even correct that I don't like the song.

llol you don't like the song so you're grasping at straws to invalidate his win

Come on, if you write a post where you claim that there IJ-votes were rigged, you shouldn´t be that kind of surprised when people ask for source?

If you state something, then the burden of proof is up to you

i think the jury was extremely suspicious but that has zero to do with john getting all 12s (because lol that was always a possibility) and everything to do with the other results. nano being second place? lol.

Asking for source for a "question". Wow.

Correlation does not imply causality. Occam's Razor would hardly suggest a weird conspiratorical link between Netflix and some jury votes.

In the absence of any alternative theories I want to state my own. I believe these supposed expert have a quite narrow view of how a perfect song should sound like and that Lundviks song fits the prescribed format well indeed. I do believe the final will be quite different though. Europe is much more heterogenous than what the composition of the jury would suggest.

I´m really enjoying this entry.

There is just something about it that sounds so nostalgic. Giving me 90´s vibes.

Probably my favorite Swedish attempt after 2012. and 2015.

8 points for now, with potential for even higher.

The only suspicious thing are the other songs: they were pretty bad

lavieenrose, "comes off as genuine" is a bit of a struggle, isn't it? Even by your own standards as you apparently felt singled out by the phrase "past and future inbreed haters". Can't help you there, sorry. One thing is clear though, it has nothing todo with Sanna.
