I'm a big fan of ''Too late for love'' and its one of their greatest entries the recent years but i think that ''Euphoria'' remains the best winner since i started watching Eurovision! And Sweden remains my favourite country in Eurovision with so many entries i like from the 90s to today! :)

Funny, I'm also one of the few who can't stand Euphoria.
Too late for love is my #4 since the injustice called Anna Bergendahl in 2010 and Eric Saade, who deserved first place, just after Heroes and I can't go on. All three songs did really well so I'm hoping for another good result of Sweden!

Yes its so true that Eric Saade deserved the win in 2011 and i really hated Azerbaijan's win that year so Loreen's win next year was the entry that made Eurovision great again for me!

Since in Sweden mostly only minor changes are made between the NF-performance and the one in Eurovision I was asking myself how accurate fan-polls have been regarding their chances. So for your understanding, the number on the left side was their ranking on the big poll (eurovision.ee), the right side has their ranking with televoters as well as their ranking overall in the contest.

2007: 19th -> 18th
2008: 1st -> 18th
2009: 9th -> 15th / 21st
2010: 10th -> NQ (9th with televoters in semi)
2011: 3rd -> 2nd / 3rd
2012: 1st -> 1st / 1st
2013: 9th -> avg 18th / 14th
2014: 1st -> 4th / 3rd
2015: 3rd -> 3rd / 1st
2016: 24th -> 7th / 5th
2017: 5th -> 8th / 5th
2018: 15th -> 23th / 7th

I was not following ESC-season before the semis in 2008 yet, so it is still hard to believe why fans put Charlotte that high in 2008. :lol:
In many years the polls were pretty accurate. In some years Sweden was overrated. Frans was the only act, that got (massively) underrated. I remember the fandom somehow not accepting his win in MF and even disliking interviews with him during rehearsals.
I wonder if John will be the next one that gets underrated by fans.

I don't get what was wrong in 2008 with Charlotte since her song was amazing!

She looked like an Alien and Ani Lorak stole her Votes.

I know that she wasn't looking good but still her song was way better than nearly all the songs in top 10 that year! :lol:

We didnt have Juries back then. I read that according to Björkman she was 3rd with the Juries. Overall it would probaby have been a Top10.

A source that is supposed to be trusted! I'm not 100% sure but i think Norway was 1st on juries in 2008 so in the mixed results Ukraine would have won.

I also read the Rumour that Ukraine would have won being 2nd with both, but the EBU didnt show the Juryresults cause if everyone could see that Russia didnt won, then Juries wouldnt have been reintroduced. I also think that either Norway or Israel was the Jurywinner.

Yeah and its not the only year that hidden juries would have changed the results! In 2005 Malta would have won in the mixed results!

I fear this might be true. 2006 probably Bosnia would have won. And 2003 maybe Belgium.

Those are all some terrible results though :lol: It's probably not as reliable or as much related to current jury as the system simply wasn't used in those years... So I don't think we should take it too serious.

The fact about Malta in 2005 is 100% sure! Malta overrated by juries since then. :lol: About 2003 and 2006 i don't know but i guess too that the winners in both years would have been different if juries results were counted!

I believe that too! If their results were counted they would be more careful!
