So Frans won as we all expected.
I thought I would be more disappointed but i´m not.

This final was very close, and he was not a superior winner at all. Although i´m surprised he did so good with the IJ, also very surprised that both Molly and Robin did so bad with the IJ, i tought especially Molly would be very pouoular with the juries.

I will write my thoughts about Frans chances in ESC later today. ;)

I watched Melodifestivalen with some of my best friends and we had such a good time. xyaay The overall show was great and the quality is super high. xheya
We were hoping Wiktoria would pick up the win during the end, so thats a great sign for Eurovision this year because the results were exciting from start to finish :D (although the winner was obvious)

Melodifestivalen always feels special and it´s sad that there wont be anymore before next year. Hopefully will the winner next year be good, because this was a downer.

Frans seems like a nice person and he is really talented, but I cannot stand the song. I dont understand why the juries gave it so many points and why it was a clear favorite.

I wish him good luck and hope he will have a great time representing Sweden, but his song will only get 1 point from me.

I don't see what people like with this song, I really don't. It's boring and he can't sing. Ace, Oscar, Wiktoria.. any of those would have been better to send.

But yeah somewhere in top 10 is reasonable! :)

If such a bad song finish in the top 10 it will be a terrible injustice to almost all the performers at the Eurovision. Top 10 isn't reasonable for such a crappy song! Sorry. I'm just honest.

Couldn't be happier with the Swedish entry. It's something completely different from the slick and calculated Eurovision-style anthem that I would normally expect from them. In a year when loads of other countries are adopting the Swedish Eurovision template and all sounding pretty much the same, this stands out as exciting and different. It's really catchy too.

I'm sure the people who love the Swedish entries from Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Norway, Hungary, Moldova, France, Armenia, Croatia et al will hate the actual Swedish entry, but that makes me love it more.

Maja Keuc is THE LIFE. xbow
I adored her, back in 2011. A great song, a powerful voice and an amazing stage presence.
Now she looks even better. When will we see her again in Eurovision? She'd have my votes just for being there. xheat

THIS..................YES..............THIS is :se: potential!

Finally no more drama pop songs, no more Sanne Nielsen screaming, Mans staging or Eric Saade dancing! Finally Sweden sends something fresh, something new, something genuine. I always thought Sweden has so much quality artists and so much potential, but always seem to be let astray by the Eurovision fandom. They always send the same type of song: high quality pop with nice staging and choreography........but empty and fake. I always like the songs fine, but I got slightly annoyed they always seemed to be so successful with it.

You can all hate it as much as you want......I see it as a mini revolution from plastic pop to genuine music :D

She lives there, her boyfriend is a Swede, so, maybe she will represent Sweden some time soon...

I found it so hard to believe Frans was fully Swedish, so looked him up on Wiki and found out he's from London

Not gonna lose my time talking about this song or how annoying Frans is. I'm just going to say congratulations because he joins The Ark and Malena in the group of the (only) shameful Swedish entries of this 21st centutry. Since "If I were sorry" is better than these two and it's not 100% bad, I'll give it 1 point, but I hope Eurovision juries make more sense than the MF ones and give this what it deserves: a real flop.

Long story short:

Not the best song of the evening or this esc year. However I think it is probably the best Swedish ESC song this century (which doesn't really say a lot though).

*pointing out that this century begins with 2001 not 2000.

Ok first let me clarify, Frans was NOT my favourite this year and yes I would have preferred others for the win.

But this hate against him and Sweden on this forum and from ESC-fans is completely ridiculous!

Apparently it dosen´t matter what we send, each year we gets this hate. For example:

Last year we send a typcial Swedish pop song with a very expensive stage performance, at that point the haters complain about Sweden always send the same uptempo pop songs with focus on the performance. The haters want Sweden to try something new and different...

And this year we don´t send a typical pop song with a big stage performance, and now the haters instead is disappointed in us because it´s not an "amazing Swedish pop song"...

So like I said it dosen´t matter what we do, because we will always have this haters against us. I guess it is because our success in this competiton and the success of swedish music in general. It creats jealousy and i can understand that.

But hey Sweden is still nr 1 with the betting companies, and the song sounds a bit like a Justin Bieber song, and that sound is obviously popular today.
I don´t think we will win this year, but to be honest it would be very fun if we did, only to see the haters reaction when Sweden wins again.

The press apparently really doesn't fancy Frans at all. The folks that are interviewing him, apparently he is being really rude to the media and everyone around him. I wonder what's going on.

From what they're telling me, he doesn't look at them, gives short answers and says after every question if they're done. When they're not on camera, he basically is not acknowledging their existence at all. Apparently just a very unlikable guy from what people are telling me.

I will find out myself in Stockholm I suppose.

I'd never do that. I was raised right....I'll talk bad behind their backs.

That was my first thought as well but even my Swedish folks said this. I can only report on what they're saying.

I read your comment this morning and decided I just ignore it, but it has been bugging me all day. Sorry to say - such utterly stupid and pointless comment especially coming from you. From hearsay you started a rumour about Frans being "a very unlikable guy". "people are telling me", "apparently he is being really rude" etc. For what purpose do you comment crap like this? Taking your usual anti-Swedish sentiments out on Frans? For me, this is the first time I heard of anything in this direction. Not even a slightest hint have emerged. On the contrary he won much on the image of being down to earth, simple, relaxed and honest. Most people understand intuitively how a 17 year old boy behave and can relate accordingly. Some 17 year old's are fully grown up individuals, some are still kids. Frans goes to school every day. He was worried what his mates would say about him being in Melodifestivalen, but was relieved when everything quickly returned to normal. This is his world, what does he care about amateur ESC bloggers? Obviously he's a shy guy in transition to be a man. Your hearsay sources are simply butthurt pricks and your tattle way out of line.

I was watching MF together with some friends (also ESC-fans) and our overall favorite was indeed Kizunguzungu. After the jury votes we cheered for Ace Wilder, but unfortunatelly it didn´t help.

In my opinion, "If I were Sorry" is not as bad as it is stated, but there were lot of better songs in this year´s MF.
But I think, it can do top 10 or even Top 5 in Stockholm.
