I guess this means Sweden and Denmark will give each other ten points in May. xthink

It was also "great" to get a glimpse of the "exciting" new voting system.

New? It's about this new, the guy in the little square dreams about being popular.

I can understand why Frans won. The song is quite catchy and you'll remember it after listening to it once. In a ESC final that IS important, after all. A conventional up-tempo song would easily get drown. However, most of us here have probably listened to the songs more than just once, and after a few times, you immediately get sick of it.

Is Frans going to be disqualified?
Matt Simons - Catch & Release

So it's not the most original song in the book. Shock, horror, who knew? I'm not happy with Frans winning (in fact I'm actually pretty livid about it), but it happened, he's going to Eurovision, and if he's the one who completed the stated objective of winning the NF, he deserves to. Now let us, the Frans hatedom, focus on keeping him from winning Eurovision rather than overblown, confirmation-biased hypotheses about plagiarism.

I don't get how Frans is the bookies favourite to win Eurovision?
Because I only see people hating him, everywhere.
Of course there must be tons of fans and he obviously gets hyped, but... where even are those fans? Why aren't you talking with us? haha

Well, Frans tops Itunes charts in Sweden since two weeks and now it's spreading to the other Scandinavian countries...

Molly Pettersson-Hammar was robbed... Wiktoria would have been a suitable alternative, but this is quite boring.

Haha  Some people think that the pool in Poland thread is invalid because many people are disappointed that Margaret and Edzia lost. I wonder whether similar accusations will be made in this thread in upcoming future :)

To be fair, people (inside the Eurovision-bubble) hate almost everything from Sweden lately - apparently Sweden is the new Russia

I meant new for Eurovision. It will be as "exciting" in May as today.

So, what is bringing Frans to the table? A different kind of song that is very divisive: either you loved it, or hated it.

Can't really hate it though: it's catchy, and doesn't sound to what others are offering. Can't say it's a good, GOOD song, but Sweden are betting for something off-beat and non-traditional and... we'll have to see.

Well, it's seems to be quite a logical choice if you look at it this way. As in Eurovision, the winner of the last year sets a trend, that many artists follow. In this case after Mans - it's all about the staging in the first place and then about the song. Best example for this - Ace.
But if there is too much from the same, the one that is different stands out. In this case - Frans. Not a strong voice, not a hammering backing track, no impressive visual effects. The few he had were on the point. On the other hand, authentic laid back presentation, a certain charisma, that one may like or not.

You may say now, not ALL of them had the focus on the staging. Right. But among the favorites - yes. Wiktoria, Ace, Molly, even Oscar.

Congratulations Sweden on your most colossal fuck up in recent contest history. Robin, Wiktoria, Oscar, Ace...take your pick, there wasn't a limit of option. You chose the actual worst song available. I hated this song since I first heard it and Frans is such an arrogant git it makes me like it even less.

My only saving grace is that he couldn't even win the jury vote and won the televote by a much smaller margin than predicted. I have no idea if this will win or come 15th place. But what I can say, is that I hope it bombs. I pretty much never say that about Sweden, but it's what you deserve this year.

There are no positive points about this song for me. I rarely do this, but you can have zero points.
