Who cares about Svensktoppen? If Melodifestivalen were about Svensktoppen, we'd just stop competing in Eurovision to save millions on taxpayer money each each.

Yeah, I just mean that the songs are evidently popular among swedish people, not only Svensktoppen but also big commercial radio stations such as Rix. I'm not saying they have good taste (cause quite frankly, they don't in my opinion), but I believe that they are pretty much the same people that are voting in Melodifestivalen, thus making them representatives for our taste in music. And I can't blame them cause Björkman gives them no choice but to accept whatever is playing on the radio, and that is, in fact, Melodifestivalen songs for the better part of the year.

So yes, if we were given the option to vote for better songs it would obviously increase our chances. Whatever "better" is. It's all a matter of taste. I just fear that most people are kinda satisfied with Melodifestivalen and Björkman. They would rather blame eastern europe than admitting to Sweden sending bad songs.
Well well... maybe next year...

I'm still in shock that Sweden didn't make it... I really don't understand it, the jury shouldve helped it get to the final even if it didn't have televoting support, I mean they are instructed to vote for International hit potential...a lot of the songs that did go through have zero chance of that while I believe that this song is an example of the criteria.

And its not like you can point out a flaw or reason for her not qualifying. She performed well and the staging was beautiful. If anything they shouldve eliminated Azerbaijan who could barely hold their performance together or Israel who not only have one of the most dull songs of the contest, but their supposed top singer sang the entire song off key.

Things seemed perfect last year qualification-wise but this year its a real disappointment. At least we know now that no type of voting system can save Eurovision.

I'm not trying to be overly dramatic but watching this breaks my heart. Anna is a sweetheart and this must be really difficult for her.

Damn you for posting this ;) :(

Is it for me or for NRK? :(
Then I guess would be better to don't post some other dramatical photos... :(

Now this was a huge injustice, I was sure she will qualify :( There were too many ballads in this semi, and they canceled each other out. I didn't like the song in the beginning, but it grew so much on me, and it's easily now in my top 5. I simply can't believe that Sweden is out of the final, I thought that will never happen, and especially not with a song like this! :( Poor Anna.

If Eric, Timoteij or Salem went, the final would've been sure now, but anyway.

Better luck next year.

Yeah... But people don't have time to listen to all the songs like 500 times like we do here...haha
And to be honest, it isn't a song you remember after just one, two or three listenings.
I don't think it was a huge injustice. Swedish PEOPLE need to learn to listen to people OUTSIDE of Sweden. I mean it's totally wasteless to vote for something that is considered big in Sweden, when the international jury don't even like it. But Swedish voters are sooooo damn stubborn... "We vote for the song WE like the best", "She is sooo cute and it doesn't matter what others thinks" and so on...

And then they complain over the fact that she didn't make it. My god...
What is the purpose of entering a big international contest if you ONLY listen to yourself, especially when you cant even vote for yourself... IDIOCY!!! Stupid, stupid Swedish televoters...

Well, actually the only MF song that could've done better than Ana was "Kom" and this one was also bashed by the international juries, so... :?

Blame those Swedish fans with giant flags destroying a lot of camera shots. It was so annoying! :D

I have a feeling Kom would have went lower than whereever Anna placed, but maybe that is just me...

Fact is the international juries prefered young and male this year...

And God I wish we would stop complaining when we don't listen to the experts we had brought in this year.

If Sweden ends up last, I guess that would be impossible.

Exactly, it took me, like, 5 listens to remember anything about the song. It's no wonder no one in Europe remembered it after only one.

That was unfair to disqualify Sweden :(((

in faCT, FOR EUROVISION to again become a musical contest that gives birth to singers of level of ABBA, it is necessary to limit the participants to only EU, imho :)

I disagree, most of the eastern countries choses good entries almost every year, it is mostly the EU countries including our own which are clueless and makes the wrong choices...

I do not agree. Anna was so charming and performed really good yesterday.

Sweden has really something to be proud of. ABBA, Roxxete, Secret Service, E-Type ---all these are Swedish pop monsters, and ABBA is a legend already. What I want to say by this is that Swedes are the masters of hits in pop music, although Safura's performance yesterday -- music written by a Swedish composer -- "drop-Drip "will be forgotten very soon.

As for Eastern European / Half-Asian entries in Eurovision, they mostly buck their originality by performing pop-remakes of rock-jazz-blues-country except may be for Armenia -- it has its own special position without clichés -- but that's my subjective opinion. Western countries prefer mostly disco-pop, and I think Anna was an attempt to do this differently this year !!
