I do not agree. Anna was so charming and performed really good yesterday.
The song was garbage, the choreography a joke and the glowsticks were mishandled by the Swedish delegation.

Sweden has really something to be proud of. ABBA, Roxxete, Secret Service, E-Type ---all these are Swedish pop monsters, and ABBA is a legend already.
ABBA broke up more than two decades ago, Roxxete is also "old", I have no idea who Secret Service is and E-Type hasn't been big for years... and did he ever even have a large international career?

And who cares?! All of those acts (except Secret Service since I don't know who they are) were formed and great many years ago... and most of them didn't even participate in Melodifestivalen, so it's not like it's possible for the Swedes to vote for them to go to Eurovision! The fact is that nowadays, the Swedish people keep electing garbage to compete for us in the ESC.

yilmaz said:
As for Eastern European / Half-Asian entries in Eurovision, they mostly buck their originality by performing pop-remakes of rock-jazz-blues-country
And they shouldn't be allowed to because...? Because they're Eastern European and those are only allowed to enter with distinctly Eastern European etno pop?

What do you call "This Is My Life"? I'd call it a pop-blues-r'n'b ballad. And those aren't exactly highly prevalent in Sweden. So we're being hacks this year according to your logic!

Western countries prefer mostly disco-pop, and I think Anna was an attempt to do this differently this year !!
Yes, and it went so well. Worst results since 1958.

Actually only two semifinals with 10 songs each and voters and international jury 50-50 wouldn't be so bad actually.

im very sad for annas sake, she did perfect - although the song is not much.

I REALLY HOPE now that melodifestivalen will change. it has to. just one show, not 5!!!
and i hope that old composers and artist will be out - and make space for new ones, and more modern ones.

and i still think sweden deserved to be in final before ireland and denmark - they were both s**t. imo.

I also think that some qualifiers were worse. Well, it's Eurovision.
+ Someone had to go in this strong semi. Too bad it had to be one of my faves.

Yes someone always has to go and someone got to be last.

But we feel in here it is long over due for a big clean up of the house.

Uhm 6 actually. But I don't think that this has to do anything with the results...

This is what happens when you send a bland ballad instead of the magnificent "Kom"

Very surprised this went out last night :(

Good song, well sung, but slightly nervous at the start.

A final without Sweden won't quite be the same...

In the interview with AftonbladetTV at their website Christer Björkman denies having selected the songs in Melodifestivalen, but I seem to remember an interview where he did say he did help select them...

A quick look at the placement since we started having the 6 weeks of shows tell me that we did indeed do alot better before we added it.
We have so far had 9 years with this version and only 4/9 top 10 placements. The 9 years before we started it we had 7/9 top 10 placements.
Yes, the show has changed but we are still the same nation and we still have strong song writers out there...
