We won't really find out whether or not it's a good song/good artist. We'll just find out whether or not the Eurovision audience likes it. I'm predicting a crushing defeat. Let's see if I'm right.

We'll find out if it's a good song for the majority of viewers or not.

You'll see crushing success of this song  . Last year nobody disbelieved in Iceland but Iceland won second place in spite of much other strong performers.
This year I can't name even my TOP-5 because I can hear only 3 good songs but no more. Sweden is the one of them.

You either weren't even around her in the lead-up to Eurovision or you read the wrong posts. I, and many others, were saying that as long as Yohanna managed a good stage performance, her number could take her very, very far. And when I saw her live during the semi-final, I knew then and there that she would be Top 5.

Yes, it was a worse MF than usual. And none of the "good" songs won :(

It's good that it's not a schlager again, but it is a very, very boring song. She's a good singer, but this just isn't enough. There are much better ballads on this ESC already.

Doesn't it count as a "Schlager ballad", though? I was written by Bobby Ljunggren after all.

Sweden, again, made a wrong choice. You wasted your best chance to do well, like almost every year. The difference is that this year the song, though it wasn't the best option, it's still very good and of course has all my support :D

I watched the final as usual and I was very disappointed Swedens this years choice. To be honest, I think Anna was the worst :| There's something funny about her voice and I just don't like it at all, and the song is poor.
I liked timoteij the most and there were plenty of other good ones.

Anna is great and I'm proud of our choice. She has a great voice, a little bit Tracy Chapman-ish. Very real and authentic and you actually FEEL this song, which you can't do with alot of others for sure.

The song was not my 1st choice in our final, but definitely my 2nd one, so I'm still pleased. I know the song is not so "direct", but it's not a bad song and Anna is lifting this song very high live.

Good luck Anna!

Even if the answer is "yes", it's different than the last entries of Sweden, but still not good.

Finally someone who agrees with me (i.e. I agree with you 100%).

Safura is so mean!
The National Final in Sweden is better every year, more than the big ESC...I loved Timoteij but she is very good too, even if Safura doesn't like the way she sings...of course,,what does she know about good music?
I agree with everything she said about the entries. Her score awarding does not match what she said, though o_O.

It's just a different genre. Last year we entered with a different genre as well. Doesn't mean much. Just because it's a different genre for the country doesn't mean it'll win or even do well.

Lordi won because they were unique to the competition as a whole. The vast majority of the Eurovision audience, most of them casual viewers who don't care about backstage stuff like "What did that country send last year", won't care or even know that Sweden hasn't sent a ballad in over a decade.

So I don't get it why so many people are talking about how our chances depend on, in any way, the fact that it's a ballad. I whole-heartedly agree on your sentiment that it's not a good song, though.

oh my ..

you posted this in the Azerbaijani thread, Swedish one, Esctoday.com  I wonder which one will be next...

Since when is she not allowed to express her opinion? I remind you once more, she was ASKED to give an opinion. If she was asked to give praise I would consider her comments a crime. She loved Darin and Salem, they were her choices. What's wrong with you? If you can't stand her, just say it but don't make up stuff.

Safura has just as much a right to give out opinons about the songs as anyone else in this thread. After all can anyone ever be sure that anyone else ever knows anything about music... ;)

And since you did ask, how can any of us be sure YOU know good music? :p

I found her honesty refreshing. Everyone else is always mindful of being careful not to "hurt anyone's feelings", especially if they're in the same business. Therefore, when people are asked about their opinion of their competitors' entries, they always give it empty praise or try to divert the attention by praising the artist(s)'s personalities. Safura was concise and sometimes didn't say much, but at least she was honest.

I have to comment on Safura's comments.

I don't think she came across as honest at all, she just came across as an arrogant and ignorant person who's a bad competitor. I mean she barely even commented anything and what she said was mostly stuff like "boring", "whatever" bla bla. It's one thing to be honest or to dislike something, but she didn't even bother that. What she did is opposite of what the people who say they think; "all are equally good" are doing, basically she's saying "all are equally bad" more or less.. I mean c'mon?

People who can't even force themselves to say anything more constructive than that, should just not say anything at all.

Safura has all the right to think whatever she wants and it's not about that, but with these useless comments she just comes across as ignorant and a bad competitor... you could feel she didn't want to say anything good (or anything much really?) about the songs... competition huh?

Quite childish if you'd ask me.

And no it's not about honesty, it's about being a bad competitor.

Ignorance is boring indeed and honestly I don't wish her good luck at all, if she can't stand competition she should not compete... I like honesty but arrogant and ignorant people not at all. I guess this is what you become when everything is fixed for you...

She should think about that alot of people in her own country didn't even want her before she starts to diss other countries like some bad loser and also it's Swedish people who helps her with the songs to ESC... haha

Silly girl indeed
