I have to comment on Safura's comments.

I don't think she came across as honest at all, she just came across as an arrogant and ignorant person who's a bad competitor. I mean she barely even commented anything and what she said was mostly stuff like "boring", "whatever" bla bla. It's one thing to be honest or to dislike something, but she didn't even bother that. What she did is opposite of what the people who say they think; "all are equally good" are doing, basically she's saying "all are equally bad" more or less.. I mean c'mon? <snip>
If you read her comments, she actually praises some of the songs. Now, she might come across as lazy and not willing to invest too much time into talking about the songs, but she praised some songs, whilst criticizing most others.

She didn't elaborate, but she gave us an honest opinion.

Also, even if she's just a bad competitor and trying to throw as much dirt around as possible (which I highly doubt as this was a national final and she actually gave praise to some songs), it's a the very least refreshing that it's not just a whole bunch of empty praise. But that's just downright dishonest and annoying.

I don't even think she bothered giving her actual opinion... she just didn't bother at all and her approach was pretty ignorant... she didn't have to write an essay about the songs but her "whatever" attitude speaks for itself...

I think she's just a bad competitor that's all...

OMG I can simply not believe that this is being duscussed so much! A-lister, I honestly never expect anything positive coming out of your ''mouth'' regarding Azerbaijan in general, don't deny this please, it is either the you-suck-but-manage-to-do-well-because-diaspora or this. But I'm sorry this is getting ridiculous. How do you know what her honest opinions were? Would you think more of her if she praised your favourite Timuteij (who were one of my favourites as well btw) instead of Darin or Salem, who she seemed to prefer? She even called Eric cute, but explained that she found the song quite boring. Again, her opinion. Or maybe this is a good excuse for you to bash?

1st: I didn't start do discuss Safura's comments in here, someone else did, I just answered these comments.

2nd: Have I said anything really about Azerbaijan? You are just making things up and I don't know why you feel the need to do so. Am I making things up to make you look bad in here? Nope... then stop doing that. It's just silly you need to act all these offensive about this.

3rd: I don't know her true opinions, but NOR DO YOU my friend, so we can just speculate.

4th: I think that her type of answers make her look arrogant indeed and I have the right to get that impression with or without your permission and I don't need you to jump on me for saying this.

5th: Please stop act like a little child and say that everyone is "bashing" all the time. It's just silly, I never "bashed" her, I just reacted on her ways of commenting things. Do you even KNOW the meaning of the word "bash"?

I mean seriously? It's not good for your health to react like this everytime someone says a little critical word about Safura. Are you Safura, in her team or paid by her or why are you going on like this?

Anyhow I just wanted to clear things up.

Now, I've answered to these "Safura discussions" that were held in this thread, which again I'm not responsible for that they started in the first place, and to be honest I don't know who began to discuss this in this thread, but I guess I have the right to answer someone else's comments without getting jumped on right?

I think we should leave this topic now and focus on the Swedish entry from now on in the Swedish thread.

@A-lister

1st : I thought we ended this in the Azerbaijani thread, but nope you felt the urge to expalin your conspiracy theories here as well. Fine by me, but don't twist it up s.v.p

2nd: I wouldn't call it ''really bad'', I would call it negative.

3rd: I agree on this, but since we are discussing it I want to have a say on this as well. I'm allowed I hope?

4th: You keep saying that I act like a child but I don't get it. What's so childish about me replying to your (don't like to use this word) aligations? I do know the meaning of the word ''bash'',thank you. Do you know the meaning of the word ''psychotic'' ?

I appreciate your concern about my health, but I'm fine really. Let me remind you that I ended our little conversation in the other topic and since you are opening it up I do feel invited to discuss it with you. What's wrong with that? It's a discussion board. You can post comments and you can even get replies. YAY

Yes, I'm Safura, her personal bodyguard and the holy spirit! Good of you to guess

1st: Ehm? What in my post did you not get exactly understand? The discussion was already in this thread, I never started it. If you actually cared to look at the page before you would see this. What conspiracy theories? That she came across as arrogant? That's not an conspiracy theory, that's my impression.

2nd: You are making up things. I never really spoke about Azerbaijan much so plz don't make up things already? I mean you can't be serious right? So if I'm saying something critical about Safura I'm against Azerbaijan!? I mean c'mon, do you believe this yourself?

3rd: Offcourse you are allowed, but for some reasons you're not allowing others to have their opinions.

4th: What are you going on about? Yes it's childish to jump on people like you're doing. Am I psychotic? I don't think so... because I got an impression from her comments? Plz

And again, for the 100000x times (problem reading?) I didn't open up this topic here, if you bothered just looking at the page before you'd see the discussion was already there.

Seriously what's your problem? I expressed my opinion about the impression I got from her comments, seriously live with it.

Aaaaanyway, regarding Timoteij. I cannot understand how they won their semi-final. The lead singer is slightly out of tune throughout the entire song. And once the refrain starts, one of the girls can't harmonize with the other girls properly. Her voice is too loud and slightly out of tune. So it's both the most prominent and most out of tune one!

Now, the song itself may be pretty good (the studio version) and they might be young, hot girls (which no doubt played a part of it), but seriously. 1st in their semi final? And that many jury votes (aren't these supposedly professional juries who value, you know, singing highly?)?

Actually, this year was a pretty bad year overall singing-wise. Most of the artists in the final this year were largely out of tune or at least out of tune a lot (or flat or sharp). SVT needs to start valuing a good singing voice more when selecting artists for MF. Selecting artists simply because they are popular (which means that year's Idol participants) and/or young regardless of singing ability is ridiculous.

If a song is bad, it doesn't matter how good the singers are.

Now Timoteij were not the best singers in the world, but I don't agree that she sang off-tune, she just had a weak voice in general.

But I'd still rather chose them than some lame song with a better singer, because in the end of the day no one will support a bad song. Afterall this is not American Idol where the best wailing singer is winning, this is a song contest where the best songs should be winning... offcourse it's good if they have good voices too, but in many cases big voices are overrated and wouldn't work in many type of songs actually.

I am loving the understated-ness of the Swedish entry this year, it's such a feel good song and it's very nice to listen to. I also really liked her performance, if this song gets drawn near the end then I think it can make a big impact. Looking forward to this one! Could see it doing quite well in the UK televote :)

What, we can no longer discuss any entry besides the winning NF entry? I'm pretty sure we've discussed other entries in the NFs in their respective threads in the past years without anyone batting an eyelid. Or are you referring to something else (that got deleted)?

^^You can discuss everything normally, but the last discussion where you started "excanging" your opinions turned out into a wider discussion that simply isn't the point.

It's simple and totally adorable! However, I didn't like the live performance that much. Was she just too excited or what? She should keep the simplicity for Oslo.

After heared sometimes again. I think the song is good but the singer is totally awful I don't like how Anna sings in which tune she does.

This song would increase so much in quality with a higher tune and not that low that is now. :x
