That would explain :es: being 25th xthink because only :al: and :it: voted for us but we got high points (in Italy not so much from the televote but it seems juries were generous with us xthink)

Agree with you that it's a shame that juries can cancel out public favourites in such a big way, and that the public vote should count for more. But if the juries are taken out, what other suggestion do you have to prevent immigrants from voting for their own country (resulting in, FOR EXAMPLE, Turkey and Armenia automatically receiving top 3 points from UK, France, Belgium, Germany and Netherlands every single year)?

But people get what they pay for. If those in a country are so unhappy with the supposed influence of some group they would vote to counteract results that you say they don't like. Everybody gets a chance to vote in a country. Why take it so seriously that you undermine the whole televote system?

But anyway those average results means nothing really.

If Montenegro got 4's 1st place from the balkans and 8-1th2 from all the others it would still do decently in the average results without getting more than 55 points from televoting. If Ukraine was 3-6 from every televote she would still be like 4 overall but with probably over 100 points from televoting.

But to reveal the average televoting Results and not the total points has a huge utility for EBU.

It looks much better to say France & Spain, UK weren't loved anywhere rather than say there were close to nul points.

Armenia & Ireland probably saved France, and UK ass, but i smell less than 8 points for every single of them.

True! EBU shouldn't even publish them, because It doesn't have any meaning. EBU should publish the split results by country, but If they are not willing to do it , then It's better they don't publish anything, because It doesn't really help.

If it's better not to publish something perhaps it's better not to do it in the first place.

I do not see how hiding even more facts would improve anything but indeed they ought to reveal the split results in the 12 points system in the first place. It is not even necessary to do it by country although they would need to do this too of course if that EBU Reference group weren't filled with shameless cowards.

There was no point system this year. The juries and televotes were ranked from best to worst.

So in previous years it looked like this

12 Germany
10 Serbia
8 Azerbaijan
7 San Marino
6 United Kingdom
5 Sweden
4 Malta
3 Romania
2 Estonia
1 Bulgaria

This year its done like this

1 Germany
2 Serbia
3 Azerbaijan
4 San Marino
5 United Kingdom
6 Sweden
7 Malta
8 Romania
9 Estonia
10 Bulgaria
11 Spain
12 Norway
13 Denmark
14 Israel
15 Montenegro
16 Slovenia
17 Iceland
etc

So there are no actual points given out. The jury and telephone rankings were combined which then resulted in a Top 10

Yep, i got it. But still top 10 can be transformed into points and we can get full rankings with points...right? :?

Also, this system is hypocritical to me. I mean...if there is system 1-26 for jury/televote in every country why then all system is not transformed like that. There is possibility of this to happen in final rankings (when televote + jury are combined):

Country X: 1st by Country 1 (12 points), 26th by Country 2 (0 points), 26th by Country 3 (0 points)....
Country Y: 11th by Country 1 (0 points), 11th by Country 2 (0 points), 8th by Country 3 (3 points)...

So in final ranks: Country X has 12 points and Country Y has 3 points eventhough Country Y has much better average! So, it is also not "fair" to have this system in final them.
Do not get me wrong, I'm just kinda ironic by this excuse this is more fair.
But by this system jury can much more degradate televote favorites (look at Romania, it is not if you like it or not) than with previous one and this is simply too much power for them to decide about rankings. I mean, in one hand I really appreciate their work...in last few years they obviously stopped that we have few Dustins the Turkey in almost every year but now this is too much really... They shouldn't decide so much in compare of potential 170 million voters! :? :?
My conclusion is that outstanding songs are in big danger with this system.

And we even can't get REAL results of jury/televote voting!

So it seems that in some cases we are to thank the juries (switzerland and romania, say) whereas in others we are to bash them (i.e. montenegro and bulgaria). That's life. Pros and cons everywhere and in everything.

Mostly they seem to have agreed anyway xshrug

They have to publish the full ranking of both televoting and jury from each country. These average numbers say nothing, they don't show who won televoting or who won the juries. I don't even bother to analyze them because they don't show how each country voted and how many points each country got from televoting or from the juries.

I don't get their problem, I just want to see scoreboard

'' To protect the fairness of the voting, the EBU does not release the split ranking of televoting and jury per country. Publishing these numbers would explicitly highlight if countries don't meet the televoting threshold – the minimum number of televotes needed to become a statistically valid result - is and where thus only the jury voting was regarded valid. Explicitly highlighting these countries could lead to unwanted disproportionate influence on the televoting in these countries in future years to come. ''

Its all because of the :az: and :ru: conflict as :az: gave zero points to :ru: ..

They could art least publish the total in points for televoting and juries.

I really wonder if Ukraine or Azerbaijan didn't beat Denmark in televoting now

I hope these split results finally put to rest the accusation that Armenians will vote for Armenia no matter what, because based on the televoting alone, clearly they didn't.

As expected some of my favourites were saved by the juries, others were killed by the juries.
Just as the televoters both saved and killed favourites of mine...

No. The reason they do this is because in case they revealed the split results, they'd have to reveal the countries whose televotes aren't enough and only jury is used. If they did that, other countries could manipulate their televote, bribing people to vote a lot for them, for example.

that's a cop out. Everybody knows which countries only use the jury vote and whatever they're trying to accomplish does not stop the bribing.

You know that this is just an extreme lame excuse by EBU? There are certainly other reasons behind this non-transparency than what they actually state.

I mean during the 100% televoting years, there were also a few countries which still only used juries, but EBU didn't have any problem releasing televoting results back then xshrug

Their "reason" for not releasing the split results are just bull crap, and I think the most fishy are the jury results and not the televoting results (well of course televoting results in Malta for instance will remain fishy ).

EBU are acting like companies acts in dictatorships... "oh we have to hide this from you to protect you"... alot of CRAP talk in other words! What they do is hurting the credibility and legitimacy of the whole contest, and they practically give their middle finger to all the fans of this contest and the public in general acting like some sort of arrogant pricks.

Again screw the juries! And IN YA FACE everyone that thought the public would hate :me:... I told you from the get-go that those awful juries would KILL it!!! Off with their heads!

And the AWFUL juries screwed Bulgaria over big time... again the PUBLIC are more open-minded, while the juries want to turn this into a bland Anglo-fest!!! I mean Armenia??? Malta #1??? Georgia?? Russia #2?? Greece #3?? Screw this!... the juries need to be KICKED OUT! The only thing the juries "got right" was Moldova and Sweden... other than that they are destroying this contest!

And again, where's the transparency EBU? Where are all the split results?

Effin hate these juries! xpuke

Maaan, you're so funny xD After thousands of posts about ethnic tunes in national language vs safe english songs you're... dissing Greece and praising Sweden! You're killing me! xD

I'd rather have 100% televoting too, but please stop bending every single opinion and fact to better suit your point...
