Ok, so here is my say on this whole situation. I'm not a huge fan of this song at all really, I enjoyed it at first but I dislike it more with every listen. I have feeling this is going to be over hyped to nothing and end in disaster again at eurovision. I get such Ann Sophie vibes from this and we know how this ended. I would have definitely preferred Maria Isabel or Maverick over any of them based on tonight's performances, but really nothing was as great as expected - maybe because the actual show was just so cheap and cheesy with quite possibly the worst audience in the history of televised national finals. Also I find it very disappointing that Spain has gone for an 100% English song, and not even the best one there tbh. The Spanish language songs on offer were better than the English ones in the NF imo, besides, Spanish is such a wonderful language anyway and I think it deserves to be heard at Eurovision.

It isn't 100% English though, the backing singers sing a few lines in Spanish leading into the second chorus:)

Is it just me or does this make anyone else think of "Living for Love" by Madonna when they hear this :?

I love that song, but not so much this

So anybody want to take a stab and guess what glorious stage show TVE will put together this year?

Barei dressed like Pippi Longstocking, Edurne, Ruth Lorenzo and Pastora Soler as backingsingers plus two shirtless acrobatic hunks jumping à la Anggun's coreography celebrating the Olympics... and smoke, a lot of smoke xcheer

One thing I don't get about the song is its suppose to be joyful and exciting so why would you only "say yay" :?

Wouldn't it be more upbeat to "shout yay" or something? It feels very underwhelming and not upbeat enough xshrug

Yeah, A-Lister must be reaching the end of his rope with this.

Not anymore. Those lines were sung in English in the final.

Oh wow, I didn't pick up on that!
I did know Barei and Xuso were not happy with having to change their songs to include Spanish lyrics but it seems they got their way so in the end.

Kind of meh on the result. It could have been much worse, and as is Barei will probably end up somewhere halfway up my current rankings, but if Spain's going to be sending something generic and devoid of regional taste anyway, I'd have much preferred to see Xuso end up with the win, since he had the catchier song.

By the way, Spain made the right choice and with a good performance and the much better sound quality that the Eurovision stage will offer, I think a top 10 is achievable.

Re: SPAIN 2016

Certainly not latin pop, this has literally nothing to do with latin pop music.

OK, but I'm asking what genre it is. Because If it isn't that, then I have no idea.

"Wow, you must have very low standards of giving out points."

Sorry I couldn't do the quote thing when I hit Reply.

As I said in my critique, it's not a bad song. It's just not memorable as compared to other entries so far. I try to give each song that is entered a chance to impress my ears. When I first hear a song, I (in my mind) set a score and that score rises or falls depending on how I feel about it as the song progresses. For this song, the score of 7 points was set and it maintained that score throughout, so that is the score it got. Again, it's not a bad song, but it is far from a winning song for the reasons listed in my critique.

Sorry if this fits your definition of low standards.
