Well, it's that wonderful time of the year again ... the Spanish entry has been chosen and everyone who places it outside of their own Top 3 gets almost killed by the Spanish Eurovision Fans

The song is actually... ok. Tis nowhere near as awful as I remember it being when I braved listening through the six songs on offer here. I don't like it by any means though. It's just gonna be one of those songs for me that's there. I don't care about it either way, but at least I don't hate it.... yet. Have 3 points.

Look at those votes! Let the annual Spanish hype train begin! We all know where it'll end.

12/12!!

I LOVE IT! The way she sings, her dance moves, her freedom on stage. Perfect entry for me!

What really makes me sad is that Spain was one of the few countries that did not equal good song = english song. And Barei tonight did just that by saying that it was time to "move forward" by sending an entirely english song. She even pointed out that there was "not a single word in spanish in it" as if that was a quality marker..... Can't understand this reasoning.

Woohoo, what a great result and my first 12 pointer of the season:D
The staging and performance will obviously dramatically improve for Stockholm but Barei's energy is infectious (like a female version of the golden boy from last year) and I can see her doing well.
Right now I need to purchase a Spanish flag for May:cool:

I watched on Spanish TV, I have it on telly, but I cought only the end, the voting and when she performed as a winning act, it wasn't perfect at all, if that is the level of the singing (I hope not), I hope in regular part she was better, she has to work a lot until May! :?

I give 10 in the poll, but if live is very strong, because this kind of song will be DEAD if it's not close to perfect live in Arena, especially competing for Spain!

And I miss Spanish language in ESC! :( :( :(

If this song was selected by the likes of France it would seem okay, but when you have actual top class songs in your NF like Spain had this year, songs in Spanish, and they opt for this cheap pop that we've heard a million times before, it's so disappointing!

So gutted it wasnt Xuso or Maverick.

The song is the best one so far. I hope Barei could pull a nice performance while dancing. Giving it 10.

But by the same token, a crap song sung entirely in Spanish is hardly superior. Barei was the only performance tonight that genuinely showed an energy that wasn't contrived (see Xuso) or attempting to mesh together past successful elements from previous Spanish entries (most of the rest).

I also noticed how much Barei looks like my friend Ashley from work and she cracks me up and would totally rock the shuffle to Say Yay! Vocally, I had very little to complain about but she needs to be careful when she shouts and squeals as it takes her voice a few seconds to readjust into singing mode. But plenty of time to work on the finer points! ;)

After this "show", all I can say is PLEASE, TVE, INTERNAL SELECTION FOREVER.

I hate when the Spaniards start complaining and saying craps about ourselves, how cheap we are, etc...... But today...... Please, TVE, a tiny country like Malta, or supposedly poorer countries like Belarus, Albania and Moldova can organize decent shows. I don't ask for a MF, but a decent show... is it THAT difficult? I feel real shame for the monstruosity we've just watched

So, the second best won (I endorsed Electric Nana).

The song is kind of all over the place, but the singer is just too likeable.
