This will sound amazing blaring out at the eurofan cafe/euroclub.....we need entries like this to create the party atmosphere at eurovision.

Indeed, last year was so dull that the mediocre tune "Golden Boy" was like an oasis in the desert, and reached a 9th place.

After this "show", all I can say is PLEASE, TVE, INTERNAL SELECTION FOREVER.

I hate when the Spaniards start complaining and saying craps about ourselves, how cheap we are, etc...... But today...... Please, TVE, a tiny country like Malta, or supposedly poorer countries like Belarus, Albania and Moldova can organize decent shows. I don't ask for a MF, but a decent show... is it THAT difficult? I feel real shame for the monstruosity we've just watched

And on Monday evening!!?/ xfaint

They don't care for ESC at all cause interest is extremely low? On Monday evening!

I doubt even BBC would organize it on Monday evening!

THE GOOD:

-I like her energy when she performs. Her and Electric Nana were the best performers in the field.
-It's not a good song, but it's not a bad song, either.

THE BAD:

-If she's not careful in May, "Say Yay!" could suffer the same fate as last year's "Walk Along". Unlike that song, this one is automatically in the Grand Final.
-As for the song itself, other than the potentially problematic chorus, nothing really sticks out.

THE VERDICT:

Is this something different from Spain? Well, yes and no. It's not something you'd hear in a Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant ("Quero ser tua", anyone?), yet I get nothing from the song, which makes the song unmemorable in my ears. 7 points

Totally agree with this.

Never got the fan obsession with NF's. NF's only work if the broadcaster plough's money into them - I mean, the fact it was held on a Monday night shows how interested TVE were in it. They would have been much better internally selecting Xuso, and I can almost guarantee that come May he would have got a better result for Spain than Barei will. Whenever the fans like something it inevitably fails!

About Barei, I gave it 8 points. Not really impressed but it's the best possible choice, the only one which can be close to the top-10. But please: staging and backing vocalist. Fix that, for god sake.

This is a 12 pointer to me: and, since it's not my usual cup of tea, it's really promising from Spain! A solid uptempo international song, much more listenable than "Heroes" imo and with the catchiest chorus. GOOD JOB!

Personal views on all that, but I thought last year had the highest quality songs since 2007.

Well, in Spain ratings are always higher from Monday to Thursday, rather than weekends. All the strong shows or series are placed there. So putting it on Saturday evening would actually show less interest.

Also TVE should invest money to promote her music across Europe (A big tour for example) for she can could win votes in the final.

The first thing I thought when I saw her was that she looks like Ann Sophie. I see I'm not the only one.

I give it 7 points. It's okay but not a winner. (Maybe her looks influenced my judgment ;))

Comparisons with Ann Sophie are flooding on twitter.

Barei will avenge Ann Sophie this year. xcheer

It's the first thing that I thought when I saw her performance.
Barei and Ann Sophie could be twins. ;)

But now I can understand why we got 0 points last year.
Her vocals are quite flawless and she stands her ground on stage.
While Barei is sweet and charismatic the song isn't.
I could see her flop as Ann Sophie. She will suffer under the same problem: The song doesn't connect with the audience. :?
It will score not at the bottom in the overall ranking but doesn't stand out to be in a top 10 position... and this means no points from no country at all.

Wish you still the best Spain! May the Ann Sophie disaster not be with you! ;)

I think she is the best choice. I agree with the fact there are many things on the song and performance that should be fixed but COME ON, the quality of the NF has been absolute crap. The song will be fixed, and Barei is such a good performer and singer. I am glad as well the Spanish public opened their minds and chose a song in English.

Finally Spain!! My personal favourite was chosen!
After watching tonights performances my verdict was clear - it had to be Barei. She has lots and lots of energy on stage, she looks sweet and natural - with a stage personality - AND I love her voice!!!
As for the song itself; it starts out very promising, continues even better - but when I am expecting it to explode, it does lack a little bit of punch. I guess I would have liked a stronger hook. But all in all - a strong entry. I give Spain a solid 10 so far.

I am just hoping and praying that TVE will not completely ruin her chances in Stockholm (with "magic tricks", "Maria Magdalena-looks", pink circuses- or other splended ideas).
And as for tonights show - well... it's all been said...

I believe they will hardly invest money in a taxi to take her home tonight.
