Watched last night's show, not only because of the songs and to find out who would be Spain's ESC representant, of course, but mainly for the sheer joy of listening to Spanish spoken on a truly Spanish show. I wasn't disapointed. There were a lot of people involved and they all talked their heads off, Spanish style. LOVED IT!!
Wasn't as happy with their final choice, tbh, though I couldn't for the life of me pick much better. I might, if pressed, have gone for Electric Nana instead, but I wasn't overall very convinced. The bearded boy's song sounded kinda nice, too, and very Spanish at that, which of course was why the international jury picked it as their favourite and all the Spaniards didn't
Barei is a very nice girl, handsome, energetic, charismatic, an Ann Sophie's improved clone as has been said before. Unfortunately her song is worse, much worse than Ann Sophie's already poor attempt. It starts off promising but it quickly goes all shades of wrong until it is just hideous noise and no melody. I can see no redeemimg features, it's just plain horrible, I don't think in a musical universe it can even be called a song. It actually makes Edurne and the notorious raaaaaaaaaaaiiiiin sound almost attractive in comparison.
Last but not least, I will be missing the Spanish language in this year's edition... Unless we get a surprise out of Norway or somewhere, lol.
