In alphabetical order, I predict the following to qualify:



In my opinion, shouldn't even be close to qualify with this crappy entry and singer, but will due to diaspora/political voting... I also don't think either or deserve to qualify (bad entries), but I can see juries boosting them.
Also is dreadful this year (sounds like a bad childish radio jingle), but will qualify based on staging and Rybak's charisma and the fact that he is one of the most appreciated and remembered name from Eurovision the past decades (rightly so, although this entry is crap "Fairytale" was a worthy winner).
Sadly however more genuine entries like , and probably won't make it due to juries bias against local sounds and lack of proper time with the public (they are not so direct).

Sweden (Not a Winning-Contender, but will make it easily)
Australia (If Juries were Fair they would give her Maximum 60-70 Points, but we know...)
Ukraine (I wish he would fai, but unlikely)

Very Likely (80-90%):
Hungary (Especially the TV will like it + some Diaspora)
Moldova (Well, its Kirkorov + Evangelinos + Lots of Diaspora and Friends)
Poland (Modern, Jury+TV-Friendly+ Lots of Diaspora)

Likely (60-70%)

Romania (Best Voice + Look+Diaspora)
Netherlands (Unique + Juryfriendly)

I actually think this semi is MUUUUCH harder to predict. Atm I only see safe, the others are too hard to predict so I have to wait a bit more

It should be Hungary, Moldova, Norway, Romania, Sweden, Malta, Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, Georgia and Slovenia. Yes, as always AUS will be held up by Juries, but Mauboy has been underwhelming so far, okay getting to double dip in ESC and ESC Asia when your geographically part of neither seems like obvious favoritism.

I don't think I posted my predictions for this semi. It's definitely a lot more open than the first semi.



I'm not totally convinced by Romania, but I included them because they've always qualified. Moldova is more of a wildcard. I could also see Poland, Serbia or Montenegro getting the 10th spot. It's really wide open at the lower qualifying positions.

I could see a shock Australia NQ though. I mean we assume the juries will back Australia, but they could be swayed this year by how badly they performed in the televote last year. (this is assuming the juries care about being more in line with public opinion....or at least care enough for it to have an impact)

I'm getting a vibe that we might see a non qualification for a country that hasn't failed to qualify before. I'm looking squarely at Australia, Romania and Russia here. Not saying it's likely....but I think the possibility of them failing to qualify has never been as high as it is this year.

That said, they're all in the weaker semi. If they had been placed in the semi of death I would have said it was almost a certainty that a country was going to lose it's qualifcation streak.

Already I think Slovenia will lose out to - unfortunately, but voted like this anyway

So, I looked at this again after rehearsals. Still convinced that Russia is a NQ, as I predicted above Poland replaced Slovenia and Hungary replaced Serbia. Otherwise pretty stable prediction.

As i know my statistics I should put Romania and Russia in my ten songs, right? Right? naah But this is a hard final. 4 nations have always qualified for the final(Australia, Romania, Ukraine, Russia) But also 4 nations have a streak over the last ten years of more than 80%(Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Denmark) And then there are many nations with streaks over 50 percent over the last 10 years.(Malta, Serbia, Poland, Moldova, Georgia) So even though the songs of SF1 are better. The nations of this SF make this a tough cookie. So this is the year that 'big' countries may fail to qualify and Russia doesn't have a real block here and the song is also not in the top 14 or 15. So they probably won't qualify. And there is a Nordic Block in this SF(Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Latvia, maybe Hungary) Who will give each other many points all the time, we can maybe even put Australia and Slovenia in this block. So I've decided to keep Russia out of the final predictions, though that's quite tough for a math nerd like me.
