My qualifier predictions:
Slick package. Should be a very easy final with that staging but i'm actually unsure just how much people will like this.
The most polarizing entry of the year and my guess for the public vote winner of this semi.
A country beloved by the jury, and this year Malta have put so much effort into their staging. The song isn't the strongest but I think overall it's got enough going for it to just about squeeze through.
Sounds like a hit. Will need the public support big time though, which I think it can achieve.
Not the strongest entry but it's Ukraine, has a nice spot closing the show and his look will make people vote.
I sense a qualification for the most intricate and beautiful piece of music of the year. Georgia again has given us something that's not meant for the fan bubble, and I see them managing to make it through with the help of the juries.
Campy Game of Thrones marchy kind of fantasy anthem. People will like it.
It's Australia doing Australia. Juries will have their backs here regardless of what the public think, and at the very least the public is going to support this more than last year.
Some are calling this Romania's first ever miss, but they are in the weaker semi, and the song vocally is a showstopper.
Moldova have a way of enticing Europe with almost anything they decide to bring to the table. The quirky performance and Moldovan charm should be enough.
Close but will miss:
If Russia don't fail with such a song and performance then they truly are indestructible. I don't think the draw here for them is particularly helpful at all.
My biggest gamble going against all the odds in the poorer semi (according to fans). I don't understand the odds. What has changed from the moment the song was selected until now? Nothing, it's the exact same song and performance that was heavily slated all those months back. I don't think there's ever been a returning winner with such a poorly received comeback before. I'm not going to be shocked if this passes, but i'm not going to be shocked if it fails either. If the juries are doing their job then this gets murdered.
I thought this would do reasonably well, but from the rehearsal the whole package just doesn't look very appealing.
