the running order on this one doesn't really change my already very tentative prediction other than making me realize i had 6 qualifiers from the first half, which is not happening. i replaced the weakest link of my first half qualifiers () with the first reserve of the second half ().

which means is my prediction and i am still not confident on anyone other than the first two.

i am so glad the running order just took the humans out of their misery once and for all.

for all my uncertainty i got 8/10 and would have gotten 9/10 if i didn't think so hard about the running order. latvia was the only upset and it was for SLOVENIA so i cannot complain.

Wasn't expecting Slovenia but when I saw the performance, I thought that it stood a chance and it was either between Montenegro, Georgia and Serbia for its spot, guess I made the wrong guess.

I think this might be more popular with the audience than expected, like Poland in 2016 + support from the diaspora.
NEW Fantastic staging.

NEW Not a popular genre but they will have their fans and supporters.

The song is a mediocre nothingness, the staging is a tasteless absurdity, and a goat could sing better than Yulia. If any other country dared to send such garbage, it would be last in the semi. Nevertheless, I'm afraid the Russian diaspora and juries from Russian satellite states will support it enough to lead to an undeserved qualification. I really hope I'm wrong here, since unlike in other years, the Russians hate their own song this year, possibly leading to limited support in the televote.

Staging nightmare like in 2015 but I'm not sure how popular it will really be.
Too weak for the diaspora and the neighbors to save it.

I'm thrilled that I was wrong about Russia. Romania looked more promising to me in the past but I have to admit that it didn't make the best impression on me in the semi. Poland had awful staging and I didn't like it either, so I can understand that it failed.

After the rehearsals I threw out the Netherlands and Serbia, which I had originally predicted to qualify. My bad...

In alphabetical order, I predict the following to qualify:

So I got 8/10 right this time around... When I wrote this I thought would be a jury sweetheart, but I came to the conclusion later on that the song is too meh even for them

As for not qualifying, I honestly thought they would base on diaspora/political votes, so surprised but pleased to see that you can't qualify with just about everything just because you have lots of voters out there.

Australia was probably the jury sweetheart again like every year... but oh well.

and are two entries I wanted to qualify but never in my mind really thought would, so those were really pleasant surprises !

9/10 with my first prediction, 8/10 with my adjusted prediction after rehearsals. I believed so much in Laura Rizzotto being able to make a strong live performance, but she didn't deliver. So glad made it after all.
