This song... I absolutely love the verses, they're brilliant, but then the chorus comes along and throws the song out the window for me. I mean it's catchy, it's Eurovision, it's fun, or something.. But yikes, I just don't like that, it's very irritating, it's tiring. It's like they just couldn't make a good song, they had to throw the chorus in and make it "Eurovision enough" with the schlager, to win??? No. You are ten years late. But look at that, I guess it does work. I've kind of accepted it will win and I've developed a soft spot for this over time, I don't hate it at all. But I'd like to be surprised.

Absolutely not! Sweden was not the best last year if you ask me, but if you want compare "Heroes" and this song - "Heroes" sounds like "Ode to Joy" compared to this!!!

- the singer is considered very handsome
- the stage show will be bombastic so no one has to pay attention to the song
- Russia will traditionally get the highest points from its geographic neighbours who never cared about the Russian song (Georgia, Armenia, Aserbaidjan, Belarus etc.), and this effect will be even greater this year because of the new voting system

Yeah, that's exactly what I was saying - it's fine if you don't like Russia's entry, but at least try to understand that other people do. Similarly, I'm not the biggest fan of Austria's song this year, you are, and that's fine with me. People can like whatever. Which is why I was trying to say that people aren't just supporting Russia's entry for political or staging reasons, and that just because you dislike the song doesn't mean everyone else does.

But don't forget, Russia did better in many western countries than in many ex soviet republics last year (exept the examples ypu mentioned)

Russia's Ex-USSR votes seem to decline, remember how one of the baltics (Latvia or Lithuania) gave 0 to Russia in 2015, when they had a better song? Offcourse Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus will always give them 12, but it looks like that's it.

Yeah - even as someone predicting this as the most likely winner at the moment, I'd have to agree with you. It should do very well indeed with the televotes, but might only be lower top 5 or so with the juries.
