So who is the Russian spokesperson now? Is there any official information?

Polina Gagarina.
I'd love that

Anyway, I can find more similarities to some other performances (Malta & Georgia 2015, Belarus 2007, Ukraine 2008, Poland 2011 come first to my mind), it's not only Mans.

Greta failed because she copied only Mans and it was obvious

I am still hoping for a big upset on Saturday, but am not counting on it. Reading around the internet, a lot of people seem to think that Russia's performance was Da Bomb. I don't really understand it, but obviously, everyone's taste is different.

Ordinary people who watch Eurovision entries on Saturday evening observe it differently and that's it.

Among 26 songs they will remember "that guy with upbeat song with bombastic staging".

They don't care if staging or song is original. They probably don't even remember Mans from the last year.

That's the thing Euro fans have to understand.

Well, I was following the twitter reactions from the Netherlands both semi finals and most of the tweets about Russia said something about it resemblance to Måns' performance last year xshrug. I'm sure people will remember actually, the people who actually vote probably watch every year.

Every year there mos be a song that I dont want to do well. This year is Russia. To copy something from the last winner its not good but I'm afraid it will work for Russia this year :(

The people who care for it enough to vote will remember it, at least vaguely. I don't think it will influences Russia's chances to win that much but I'm sure there will be people who don't like it enough to win for the simple reason that if you KNOW about Måns' performance last year, you see the resemblance of the two acts.
Also, most people I heard speaking about this entry actually thought it was "too Eurovision, too much a formula to win, too fake", even though some have said they like the song. I'm sure Russia will do well, but I don't think their victory is a done deal.

I can't see Russia winning this year. I just can't. Top 5 guaranteed, but it won't win.
I think Australia, France and even Spain have a bigger chance of taking it home tomorrow compared to Russia.

I suppose the commentators will point out the similarity of the staging to last year's winner in many countries.

There is no doubt that the staging is the main reason to love this entry, but I actually think the song gets unfair criticism. It is actually a good song, and very catchy I feel. I believe that Sergey would be a good and deserving winner if he does take home the crown, however my gut feeling is that this time tomorrow, Dima Bilan will still be the only Russian to have won Eurovision.

Final Verdict
