Romania ROMANIA 2024 - not taking part

No measure of time spent away from the contest will wash away the corruption and incompetence that is found within the current leadership, which was appointed by the Parliament. They're completely oblivious to their own failings and the reputation they have right now. They're spending all their efforts at the moment on some random new channel called TVR Info which nobody cares about.
We need a top-down shakeup, like it happened with TVP.

At this rate, the day of the first Semifinal they will still be indecisive about this year participation...Btw, I think they desperately need an year off to reset last 5 years and reconnect with the contest: they used to be succesful, but the last few entries left me really uninterested or underwhelmed, mainly because TVR efforts were almost non existent. The only song I liked since 2016 was Alcohol You, but CoVid decided Eurovision 2020 wasn't supposed to be.
I'm still somewhat of a Romania stan but they have fallen drastically in recent years. I loved their NF's in 2018 and 2019, but the eventual winner was so random both times. (though i stan Ester nevertheless). I also like Amnesia and DGT, but not to the point to feel devastated when they NQ'd.
And the way TVR released the competing songs last year was really embarrassing, but i think they'll go internal this year anyway (if they'll go at all)

Lithuanian singer Agneta Kleizene is being rumored to have bought herself a spot to be Romania's representative at ESC 2024. Romania are heading into their desperation era I fear.

Another rumoured name is Laura Bretan. At least, she's got some connection to the country...

I mean San Marino is rather understandable.
Luxembourg could do better.

Apparently the deadline isn't actually till the end of January.
If after all this they decide to enter and end up sending another crap song and fail to qualify once again I may riot on behalf of all Romanians everywhere
