Money.

Croatian commentator once revealed during live broadcast of the Grand Final the pricelist of special effects on Eurovision stage e.g. on videowall, on the floor. There are also costs for props that they must set up and then dismantle. Then extra you pay for special lightshow, or fireworks. And a delegation must pay for each element of staging. The prices he had told us were absurd.

So, if there are little chances you'd win because you're not in the so called Eurovision powerhouse countries group, then why spend that much money? For what?

Oh well, not surprising. Sad to see another country out. Hopefully things will get better and they will be back next year. Sometimes, taking a break may not be a bad thing.
