Can somebody from Portugal explain to me a bit "Gerbera amarela do sul"?
What it is about, and what message it brings? Why is he dressed like that? Why those backings do what they do?
Consulado is consolance I guess, like emotional support? So the ending seems to be like consolance for me, you and an uncle I think? So that would be after the funeral, the sarcasm palpable.
Verse seems to be about that the aristocracy is unreasonable, more pine than eucalyptus etc (pine stings, eucalyptus is nice).
Portuguese is hard.
Summary:
It's about the government being run by donkeys who lie to the people. Rebelgium! Rebelgium!
Verse seems to be about that the aristocracy is unreasonable, more pine than eucalyptus etc (pine stings, eucalyptus is nice).
The song was made for the portuguese public, it's references and word play doesn't work in another language and Sambado knows that, he doesn't want to win Festival da Canção e just wants his message to be heard
Thanks for elaborating. The lyric is "more eucalyptus than pine(tree)" is a reference to a law in Portugal know as "the eucalyptus law" that allowed forest companies to plant eucalyptus in Portugal, a tree that is more profitable than pine trees.
That law and the rise of eucalyptus trees in our forests is seen as the cause for the rise of forest fires in the last years in Portugal.
Eucalyptus trees also need more water than pine trees, that's why the next verse says "Its a desert all year round".

I was sad that Blasted didn't made to the final, but lest be honest, the live performance was really really badxgaaah xgaaah xgaaah and he took the place of "Rebellion" to compete for the ticket for Rotterdam in the FdC final!?!?
Jury is guilty!
I also felt targeted. Last time Belgium rebelled it was against the Dutch.I was sad that Blasted didn't made to the final, but lest be honest, the live performance was really really bad
But they could be much better in Arena for the final, and Sambado doesn't want to win FdC and represent Portugal in Rotterdam! Where is LOGIC Portugal??? Lost somewhere in Tajo river!!??I was sad that Blasted didn't made to the final, but lest be honest, the live performance was really really bad
Well it's certainly wide enough.Somewhere in Tajo river!!??
Yeah but they can't send an entry that was terrible live just because it has potential to be good in May.But they could be much better in Arena for the final, and Sambado doesn't want to win FdC and represent Portugal in Rotterdam! Where is LOGIC Portugal??? Lost somewhere in Tajo river!!??
Not in May, I meant in the final of FdC which won't be in that shite TV studio, but in some Arena!Yeah but they can't send an entry that was terrible live just because it has potential to be good in May.
That may be true but it would be unfair for the rest competitors that were better on the tv studio. Not in May, I meant in the final of FdC which won't be in that shite TV studio, but in some Arena!
I throw you into Tajo river now!Blasted would have been shit anytime anywhere. For your regular viewer they just come across as a bunch of no-hope douche-bags stuck in the year 2000 when nu metal was still cool.
