I believe the winner of SF1 will be between Cyprus, Greece, Iceland and Portugal. Cyprus has the disadvantage of performing first in the draw but it´s the only favourite until Iceland comes along (at #13) so it will satnd out.

Videoclip has 0 zero influence in the final result, I don't get why some people are so obsessed with it

My reasons for Conan having a videoclip is that it could be a new way to connect to the story behind the song, the song is in portuguese and that is a disadvantage for those that will not care about searching for a translation, and it could be a way to see the song in a new context for those that do already like the song.
Also it is April, this time of the year the isn't much going on with eurovision and a videoclip would be a good way to create some buzz around it again, like what happened with Norway, with is fun and weird (but in a good way), I would be very surprised it Norway doesn't become meme after the official videoclip.

This is the first Eurovision song this year I heard on the radios during an Uber drive in Lisbon. It was so nice!
Btw Cabo da Roca is the most flawless place I've ever been to xheart

Can someone explain to me the meaning of that mask, why is his dancer dancing like there is no tomorrow on such a slow tempo song? This was boring to me and I almost fell asleep. Than this japanese kabuki melody, his feather costume, the metal glove/rakes on his hand (I hope I used correct term in English). Than this almost like falsetto voice. I really don't get why this so hyped up before.

Slow tempo? Are you sure you listened to the right song?

I don't know. I feel asleep in the middle of the song. That whole performance was weird, not cohesive and I guess he wanted to be noticed, but not because of vocals, because of all those things that I mentioned. I still didn't get any answer on any of my Qs for this entry. I'm glad I will listen to it 2 more times (if he qualifies ofc) and that's it.

And a video from Saturday's live performance of Telemóveis.
And if this isn't pure art I don't know what it is.
So good to see that Portugal is risky and not doing what everyone's expecting.

ENJOY!

I was actually there on Saturday, it was amazing!
Lots of energy on stage, from both him and João, cracking some jokes (at the end of the video instead of singing "who shot the arrow was me" he says "who forgot the spoons was me", in reference to the mask), rocking some awesome boots the first 2 songs I believe (he ended up singing the show barefoot), he also had two musicians with him on stage, one playing the flute and another one playing the chinese violin.
The public was great, they knew all of their lyrics and they even participated singing a new one, someone threw into the stage a plushie in the shape of a guardanapo (a portuguese cake) and he sang two more songs before finishing the show.
I was a bit worried that he could not be vocally on point (as it happened in a couple songs in the concert of last week), but he was, the hole show.
It was really very very good

I don't think you're really looking for answers, so there's no use in going that way. Someone who says it's slow tempo and made you fall asleep isn't really trying to engage in a conversation. You could've just said you don't like it. Nothing wrong with that.

The mask is inspired by the egyptian death-masks, the song his about morning and loss, he says that he broke his cellphone trying to call heaven, as to say that he broke it both trying to speak to the deceased person and/or trying to find an answer to his pain (the feeling of loss can also be about a friendship or relationship that ended, being that the other person is still alive, but dead in the sense of not being part of his life anymore),
The "rakes" is symbolic to either him stopping morning "killing" the feeling of loss with the arrow or it can be symbolic of him writing a message using the cellphone to that person that is still alive and that could be the first step to rebuild their relationship.
The dance the way he does it's because that's their thing, João is part of his act since Conan started performing live and João dances that way because the music makes him fell and move that way

I still don't understand anything about this song. It's like those conceptual art pics that everyone admires, but nobody understands anything about it or what it is. Thank u for clarifying, but I'm still bored with that song & falsetto. I heard he and his dancer are dating. Is it true?

No, they have a big brother/little brother relationship but that's it.

Not sure if it was already shared here, but "Telemóveis" made it into the portuguese drag queen scene
