I would be very surprised if it did. Then again it did win the Portugese selection, so that surprise is not impossible.

The Portuguese audience relates more easily to a song sung in their language and to saudade in general.

I remain in absolute awe with this entry. Not because I'm portuguese. I'm not very patriotic when it comes to Esc. Every year I'll wear the colors of my favorite entry and that's that. I'll be heartbroken if this fails. It deserves all the love it can get.

RTP also published a promotional leaflet that will be handed out in Tel-Aviv. It's available here

Besides this, in the last couple of days they published the artwork for the promotional CD, as well as some photos from the postcard shootings.

I think this last week has revealed RTP's strategy for Eurovision 2019, in a way. Ever since Conan won FdC 2019 they've been pretty silent when it comes to promotion, or anyhting really. Even their social media for Eurovision has been almost inactive. And now that we are 3 weeks away from the contest they reveal all of those things in 3 days in a row, even the postcard photos that they were obviously witholding since the postcard shoot a couple of weeks ago.
It seems like they might be saving their promotion efforts for the last couples of weeks before the rehearsals and for the actual Eurovision weeks themselves, in order to try and build some momentum just in time for the contest, kinda like Cyprus did last year. For that to work they'd need killer staging and a big effort in the press meet and greets in May, though.
Or maybe I'm just giving them way too much credit

It's really very special, I don't know what rankings it'll do in Tel Aviv but it's still in the lineage they took ;)

I love both of them, why do people get one but not the other or put one of these masterpieces down to boost the other is beyond me(things I've read on youtube). I want them both to do extremely well. :D

Portugal and Iceland are my number 1 and 2, respectively. Since i can't vote for my own country, Iceland it is. I want them both to do well.

I am starting to fear for Portugal. I am very happy they are in the first semi, and I still believe in a qualification. But I am not expecting a very good result in the final. I think the song is just "too far out there". After listening and watching the performance only once or twice people might either think "Wow - so different and interesting; art!". Or they might go "Wow - I dont get this at all, what a laughable freakshow, so typical of the Eurovision!". I think actually the juries might be harsher on this than the televoters.
Anyway; I DO hope to see Portugal in the final!

Even after listening to this song so many times, it still feels so fresh to me. Simply adore this song. I don't want to even think about not qualifying. That would break my heart. And many others as well.

Tumblr, mostly.
Yeah I'm worried about him as well, but I defo hope he can fulfill his Lea Sirk destiny of unexpected weirdo qualifier => epic bottomgod finale fodder. More would always be welcome but I dare not hope for it.

I still think that he is going to win SF1. Not sure why everyone underrate this entry's strength. But even if i have overrated this still the final is secure for Conan. Slovenia has more chances to flop in SF1.

I remember reading many comments last year from people who thought O Jardim was a potential winner and would do super well, and well yeah we know how that turned out. For people who like all that different experimental stuff (idk how to describe it nicely ) this is great, but for everyone else it isn't, and it wouldn't be the first time a song/singer has blown up in the home country and fallen flat on it's face at eurovision. There is every need to be worried for his chances especially as I feel more people will be inclined to support Icelands brand of 'weird' or the pure fun and amusement of San Marino than they would do Portugal which is harder pill to swallow. I'm prepared to be proven wrong though come esc time.

I can't say I'm afraid of Portugal's chances, because I never had telemoveis as a sure qualifier (same goes for Iceland). It can go either way.. All I can hope is there are enough people like me watching the 1st semi final and they fall in love at first listen!!
