NRK still have a pre-ESC show where 4 people are judging the different songs and giving each song from 0 to 12 points (as well as 4 eurofans doing the same after the "jury" has had its say). For the first time in history an entry got 4 times 0 points.... Portugal.
While all the 4 members of the panel are making jokes etc - they are all more or less related to the music industry. And they all might as well have been members of the official norwegian jury - in that way things doesnt look too bright for Conan....

I LOVE Portugal's song. The Middle Eastern rhythms are really cool, he's actually made Portuguese sound like Arabic and not Portuguese at all which is very clever. Not sure how he'll go but I will be voting for him!

They only seem to enjoy generic pop songs or eurovision cliché tunes so I'm not surprised they don't appreciate things that are different and authentic.

At least, I think Spain and France will save us from the non-qualifying. And RTP will surprise this year with a good staging, I hope. Conan is a very artistic singer and he is a person that can set a good performance. Portugal will stand out. If Conan conquered his own country, which is very traditional and not a fan of new types of music, Eurovision won't be the problem

Yes, true. And this often seems to be the case with juries. And as JonnyWest pointed out; Portugal will probably (as usual) struggle to get votes from the nordic countries.

Today Conan was interviewed in an RTP tv show. he admited that the performance would be a little bit diferent at Telavive. There's not much time left to see what he has in store...

Will Matt be livestreaming the rehearsals like last year?

The host ask him if the perfomance plan for Tel aviv would be a bit diferent of Festival da Canção and he said yes in that kind of mode "it will be very diferent".

I hope the staging will be different. I like the song and on the evening it could be top 10 for me, but that staging completely ruins it for me every time I see it.

The staging kills it for me. Sometimes less is more. I just want him to sit on a chair and sing his song. The song is weird enough, why confuse viewers even more?
The feather costume, vibration dance, mask, arrow hand, it's all too subtle. I can't derive any meaning from the elements. Too much artsy-fartsy bothers me.

Portugal for once in 55 years sent something I can stan, I don't want it to be ruined with a messy staging.

People underestimate the strong Impact this Song leaves at the Televoters at Home in the Opposite to most of the other Entries which will leave the Viewers cold.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen. He's not trying something over the top just for the sake of Eurovision. That's his body of work and his personna. He was like this before esc and will continue to do so after esc. If anything, i actually find Telemóveis a bit toned down compared to what he usually does.

The host kept on trying to get some info out of him about the staging but he really stayed tight-lipped. I'm hoping something good is coming|
This is the kind of song that is walking a very fine line between being perceived has a modern high quality song that breaks clichés or as just a novelty joke entry that isn't taken seriously.. the staging can really make it or break it and decide how many people fall on each side of that line.
