If :pt: wins (not too likely) ESC will prove that this contest is becoming only better. Such plastic songs like :cy: :gr: that pretend to be good pop-music should be eliminated.

There is no reason to eliminate anyone. What makes Eurovisión so big is that you can have "guiltypleasuring" trash like Montenegro, then classy, elegant, emotional stuff like Portugal, then some typical europop like Greece. The same way the winner could either be an hyper-mainstream pop song like "Heroes", a whole combination of clichés like "Rise like a Phoenix" or a hearbreaking story which would have no place in the charts like "1944".

There is place for everyone ;)

Portugal is almost tied with Italy in the bookies, at this point!

Also the difference between Italy & Portugal with the third one has become really huge at this point. Looks like a tough, bipolar southern competition.

Talking of odds, so uhh, I put a £50 bet on Portugal a few days ago. The odds have obviously dropped... do I take the money and run? :D

Last year, Portugal won the UEFA EURO for the first time and now Portugal might even win Eurovision! xshock
They started small and now they are reaching for the crown of the competition of competitions.

All of that just in time to save us from the most boring voting in years.

If the most hopeless country in Eurovision history finally wins, Spain might actually try for once next year in order to avoid being shamed while the contest is in the hood.

Portuguese odds below 3

Italy has been for a long time below 2 but is rising and is now over 2

85 pounds is a lot of money, and 1 in 3 is perhaps a little generous for a Portuguese win. Cash out now.

I'm really not sure. Its possible that Portugal wins the Jury vote, and if it does, then surely the odds will drop even further as people assume it is about to win?

Why do I do this to myself  I prefer Occidentali's Karma too!

Portugal must be the jury's winner. I mean, he's basically flawless :D And most of the people seem to like/love him, so he will get a lot of televotes. I have a strong feeling that he's gonna win this year and even Francesco won't be able to beat him.

It would be one of the worst winners ever for me because I can't listen to the full song without falling asleep. Not to mention the performance.

A bit off topic, but I noticed someone in the comments (about Belgium and Blanches performance) that the audience had a "winner-reaction" towards her. Could she sneak up on everybody and win?

The big cheers for her were very noticeable on TV and the cheering crowd even made her smile. At first I was reminded of the infamous fake audience sounds in Vienna but it seems it's all real this year. If both Italy and Portugal are contenders, why not Belgium as well? I suppose all three have their haters and supporters and could get votes from both the audience and the juries.
