Apparently some inside information about last night's results came out (from some betting company). Portugal won the semifinal by a huge landslide, Belgium came second and Sweden third.

If that's true I find even more shocking the fact :be: came 2nd than :fi: not qualifying...

I'll just copy-paste the comments:

Here you go. It may not be true, but we never know.

I saw that too in a wiwi comment. That's just a theory from a normal fan. Not a fact. Though i find his analysis interesting, i could also say Portugal started slaying in the odds only after the results cause... well, no one was 100% sure we'd make it to the final.

We won the semi final in a landslide. I'm 99% sure about it!
How do i know this? Because the gap is shortening amazingly in the bookies that now we have a difference of only 0.7 (!!) between Italy and Portugal.

Well about the rumors that Portugal won the Semi-Finals because of the odds, idk if it's true or not. I watch Eurovision since what? 2008? But this year it's the first year I began to start following the contest in March until now so what I am about to say have nothing to do with other years. But something is very strange - yesterday before the Semi-Finals the odds for Portugal to win the contest were, in the maximum, 8. Some hours after, this morning Portugal had and have right now odds of 2.88. Now my question is - what made the bookies do such a change? The European charts? The Youtube Views and Facebook and Twitter shares (the majority of them are probably from Portugal)? Please tell me if such things were important in the last years. So, my point is - I think that maybe the bookies have some inside information. Did that happen in the last years? I know how the market works and such a big difference in the odds in a matter of some hours tells that something make the bookies understand that Portugal are a real contender for Italy this year and that these 2 countries will fight alone for the win.

Absolutely deserved the final. He was brilliant :D I would really love to see it as an overall winner. Out of the 3 potential winners (Bulgaria, Italy and Portugal) this one is by far the best.
