The big cheers for her were very noticeable on TV and the cheering crowd even made her smile. At first I was reminded of the infamous fake audience sounds in Vienna but it seems it's all real this year. If both Italy and Portugal are contenders, why not Belgium as well? I suppose all three have their haters and supporters and could get votes from both the audience and the juries.

Yeah, and I thought Blanche did a good job yesterday. I liked her new dress better and her vocals had improved. It was enjoyable. I still hope and want Salvador to win on Saturday, but I can definitely live with Blanche (or Francesco) winning as well.
But my vote on Saturday will go to Salvador and Portugal :)

(Unless I will be broke from voting at Austria tomorrow I guess, haha  )

Don't get it, don't like it, completely overrated in my opinion and don't get me started on the singer. I'm clearly missing something.

Absolutely no doubts about it. But don't worry, you still have time before it's too late. The heart of Salvador is big enough to love everyone! ;)

Because Blanche still lacks the confidence Francesco and Salvador have and it shows. She's way too nervous to effectively conceal it, and it ruins the vibe. If juries rated her high, it would be quite weird. I honestly don't know why does she get such support, maybe somebody has to explain it to me. But imho the gap between her and Salvador (and Francesco) is way too huge. Her fans will push her into top 10 probably, but right now I don't think she is a real contender for win now.

edit: sorry if it's too much of an offtop :p

I love how some weeks even days ago most Eurovision-fans were like: ":pt: would've won in any other year but :it: is just unbeatable" ...

I watched the NF of Portugal in Lisbon while visiting my friend in Portugal. To be honest, I didn't like it that much and I was a bit subjective by judging it in connection to poor entries of Portugal in recent years. However, after the SF 1 Salvador is rising in my eyes and now I believe he is very close to the top place. Italy is not as strong as expected so Portugal has a real chance to make Lisbon 2018 real xcrossed

Are we really comparing Portugal (and Italy) with Belgium? Really? I mean, did you really see the performances?

the girl was a nervous wreck on the semi-final... but she has one of the strongest songs this year. Also, we all know that the winner doesn't always match the best performance/song... It would be good if it did though.

Apparently some inside information about last night's results came out (from some betting company). Portugal won the semifinal by a huge landslide, Belgium came second and Sweden third.

And where does this betting company know the EBU results from? xfaint

I clearly see Portugal winning this year. I mean, forget about odds, bets and whatever... objectively Amar pelos dois has master quality in terms of instrumentation, melody and production in general, and of course Salvador's performance is absolutely stunning, always in tune and sensitive.

Obviously we have some other pretty good songs around, though Portugal is the winner for me. I must thank Salvador and Luisa for bringing this masterpiece to the contest, because songs like this one is the reason why I keep on watching Eurovision every year :)

I'll just copy-paste the comments:

There has definitely been some serious insider information. Here’s what we know so far. As soon as the semi-final ended, Armenia started trading really high moving up to the third spot behind Portugal and Italy, but 3 hours later, Belgium and Portugal were trading high whereas Armenia and Sweden started dropping very quickly as has Azerbaijan which has gone from 7th to 15th now. Here’s my take:

1. Portugal won the semi-final. I’m certain that Portugal got ridiculous amount of jury votes and possibly even won the televote bringing their total way ahead of the runner up.
2. Belgium finished second. As weird as it seems, the only explanation for their success on itunes and with bookies must be the fact that the song did very well.
3. Sweden or Armenia finished 3rd which essentially means neither country has what it takes to win the contest which explains why their odds are dropping so quickly.

You seriously know nothing about how telecommunication companies work do you? The information passes through hundreds of people and all it takes is 1 person to profit by disclosing information to bookmakers. There is no way that all booking agencies started shortening Armenia’s odds right after the contest to 11 (essentially putting it ahead of Sweden and Bulgaria) and then dropping it to 40-50 3 hours later. Same goes for Sweden and Azerbaijan.

Your analysis is right.
Portugal won and Belgium came second.
Also youtuebe views. Both slayed in the televote.

Here you go. It may not be true, but we never know.

Portugal would be a fabulous host... xlove

I mean, I love Occidentalis Karma a lot, but I am not as thrilled about Italy hosting than Portugal. I am more thrilled either way than for Sweden/Norway/Russia/Ukraine hosting.

However, Italy was a really terrible host in 1991, it was cringeworthy from the beginning to the end, and Portuguese people are so much more humble and sweet. It would be great.

At this point I just really want him to get better. He does deserve to win, but I am really worried about his health issues :( I had a terrible dream last night and I've had this feeling of unease ever since.

1) Since I've been watching, there's never been an inaccurate leak of that type.
2) Take them with not just a grain of salt but with the entire ocean from which the salt is harvested anyway.
