I actually don't know who Lys Assia is... why are her thoughts valued here? *Ducks before a pillow is thrown at me*

The first ever winner of Eurovision. She's also a long time ESC-fan.

Btw, the best way to perform I think is to keep it simple and not overdo it. The naturally raw charisma and simpleness is the killerapp of this entry.

Ah, I see why she is so special and her opinion regarded! Of course, in terms of his performance, I agree. The simplicity and genuine emotions was what moved me to take a more active part in Eurovision in the first place. Itis my imagination that tends to run wild, but there are things learnt from sharing ideas :)

Yeah, speculations about how to make the performence work are what making this forum the perfect place for proper discussion. You are indeed adding juicy fuel to the fancy car! xup

I think something that many hasn't speculated much about is the ''awkward'' movements in Salvadors performence in the NF. That works for Salvador's favor! Thats enough to capture the natural feeling of his performence and it's looks professional at the sime time. It's an unpopular opinion, but I want Salvador to keep this in May. xpray

Me too! I want him to stay authentic and not trying to appeal to the masses

I'm sure that his "awkward" moments will stay.
First because that's just the way he performs, he can't help doing these moves when he is really feeling the emotion and intensity of the song.
And second because the team definitely knows that these moves are one of the features of the performance that add to it's originality and uniqueness.

Speaking about his gestures, try comparing semifinal version and the Eurovision version and let me know what you think.
Watching back on the videos, I much prefer the semi final version over the finals. I enjoyed the vast 'scopatures' that convey his tiny figure in the sea, which just accentuates his movements and acts to convey more of what the song is trying to say: he is pleading to the audience, that maybe amongst them, is the figure he is asking to love him back.

Can someone here give me a heads up on the idea of these preview shows, ie. how they work? My understanding so far, is that it seems like a mock set up of juries and what they think before the show starts....

EDIT: And where is Italy on their choices??

Exactly. It's a mock up jury. Italy it's not there because the show is divided in several episodes!

It doesn't surprise me that his odds are increasingly despite not going to the promo tour. It isn't a song that can be sung, promoted and appreciated in loud environments(I think of Norway's BlackBird). It is the song that works best when it sneaks into you, when you're emotionally open, when you're checking out of curiosity, and when you least expect it to be there. Quality speaks and spreads for itself.

Salvador has one concert on 29 April and two on 30 though his first rehearsal is scheduled for that day. What is he going to do? :? I hope he doesn't miss the rehearsals because it would be very unprofessional

It just shows that he doesn't care about Eurovision unlike the majority of the participants. Salvador isn't a superficial guy just to appeal masses. He follows the hipster rules. That may work in May!
