Another way to start April is to watch the created chipmunks version of the song:

Do you guys think Salvador's chances of a good score will be hurt by not attending these pre-parties?

That doesn't affect the final result at all. It might affect the betting markets a bit, but the first thing that can give us an indication of the true results will be when rehearsals in Kyiv start.

Why would you think that?

I read a lot of comments from portuguese esc fans here in Portugal talking about this.Cause he'll miss all the interviews and the buzz and what not.

Just thought i'd pop the question to a wider crowd :D

Less is definitely more. Just look at Dami Im and her reception of press prior to the competition last year :) I understand that most fans pay more attention to the concert and the song's live performance, in order to have distance, objectivity and obtain a more complete unbiased first impression and opinion. I might even put up the view that parties do more harm than good for the artists overall, because it is easy to get distracted, overwork and hence succumb to the pressures put on by the media and busyness. As much as they are trying to promote the song- too much attention before the performance may affect the song's perception in a negative as well as a positive way.

I feel for the artists who are desperately trying to nurture and protect their voice from the changing weather conditions, give interviews, do training and then be expected to sing as good as they do live, every single time. Just imagine how much talking time accumulated from those one-on-one interviews. All that talking from the interviews(especially Kristian's wiwiblog interview that went for 18minutes)! Most of the videos produced of the shows aren't good quality anyway and may hence form unfavourable negative impressions.

Let the artists' and the teams' training, stage settings, and most importantly, the song, speak for themselves. It is, after all, a song contest. Don't underestimate the element of surprise!

I agree! I haven't seen this cover before. Thanks for sharing, this is a BEAUTIFUL arrangement! So professionally done! I love how they captured the sensitivity of the song. I think this cover, along with the live versions of Salvador as well as the animation is what people who are still not yet convinced of this song's relevance, beauty and timelessness need to see.

"What a nice surprise to hear Robin saying that he likes the song from Portugal. Really a good surprise, because (it) coudn't be more different from his own song, and a sign of good taste!"

Quoted from Youtuber 'Dam Good' in the comments section on the following, because I couldn't have said it any better.

This year is getting better and better. When the representant of Sweden has such kind words for Portugal...it just shows how touching and heartwarming that song is. I think it's sure to say that Amar pelos Dois is one of the juries hot favourite. The draw was an evidence that EBU is supporting Portugal. Who would have thought this scenario!

I am quite surprised by Robin. It shows that music has no boundaries. I do not know what is going on, but I am not complaining. xqueenbitch
