Ialso think the song is good! I don't get why people don't like it... Maybe it's like a virus where all the people hate Leonor's song... And finally a cure has been found!

I went back and listened to and watched the live performance in the semi - which was how I got familiar with the song. And I still dont think that was very impressive and it didn't do the song justice.

they don't like her look

How can they not like her look?xshock
She's the hottest chick in the competition right now. And charismatic as well (the two things don't necessarily come together)!

What's not to like?

Song's not eurovision friendly I know

Breaking news !

Diana Piedade disqualified from Festival da Canção!

Portuguese broadcaster RTP have revealed that one of the songs taking part in Festival da Canção, Maldito Tempo, had been disqualified from the contest. The song had been released before and was therefore not eligible to enter the competition.

RTP states that Diana’s song broke two rules of the contest, rule six and rule thirteen. Both rules state that a song must be original and may never have been released nor performed before Festival da Canção. On her official Facebook page, Diana Piedade has stated she has been told about her disqualification by RTP. Furthermore, she seems to imply that she did not know about the previous release of her song Maldito Tempo, but the composer obviously did. She states:

I feel deeply fooled, because it’s part of my principles to fulfill the responsibilities I accept and to show respect without any breaking of the rules and regulation from the programmes I decide to take part in.

So far, RTP have not revealed the full results of Festival da Canção 2015. They also have not confirmed when the decision upon Diana’s disqualification was taken. The composer, Carlos Massa, has not yet responded to the case. Diana got eliminated in the semifinals.

Festival da Canção 2015 was won by Leonor Andrade and her song Há Um Mar Que Nos Separa. She will represent Portugal in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

Well the contest is over and she didn't win, she didn't even make the final, so its kind of pointless to disqualify her now, isn't it

OK, I don't get why people keep complaining about this song, I believe it is one of the best songs in this year's ESC edition. I love everything about this song, singer's vocals, music, lyrics... I think she is perfect and she should not only get to finals, but actually score highly! The only thing I would change about her is her pants :? When I saw her wearing thos awful spandex/lycra pants I remembered immediately of Olivia and her Physical clip from '80s, horrible, horrible :geek:

Otherwise, I think the singer is adorable and I love her awkward gimmicks :) All in all, Portugal got my 12pts here and on the big night, you can count on me, I will vote this song ;) Good job Portugal and good luck! Hopefully I see you in the finals!

This song is very beautiful, if it was from Azerbaijan or Russia or any country with a huge diaspora, it would be a big favourite.

I agree with you. Portugal's song isn't a masterpiece. But neither are any of the entries so far this year. The only songs that caught my attention at a 1st listen were the ones from Estonia and Slovenia. Also Hungary, for being different. I can't understand why in a year where nothing really stands out, people still rank this so low. In several YouTube tops, it only ranks ahead of Finland. Oh well...

I've never liked the Estonian one. But Iceland has one of the few decent big hooks. I also liked the Portugese song at first listen, probably because I heard a decent performance unlike some.

Being so backwards? Are you serious??? I really disagree with you. Besides replicating current world hits is also not a sign of "being up-to-date, modern". Moreover, I am still curious how Mans is going to sound live in Vienna where he will not be allowed to have prerecorded vocals. At least we know that with Leonor we get what we've already heard in Portuguese national finals - and in my opinion, she was/IS great!

At first listening I was little surprised by chorus, after such verse I expected something stronger and darker ;) but then with more listening I loved it the way it is. Great song, great for sticking with Portuguese. 12 points from me :)

I really wanted to like the Portuguese song but I just can't........

Unfortunately this song is so irrelevant and insignificant, it's the only song so far where I can comfortably say that Qualification is not going to happen. Hopefully Portugal will not lose hope if they flop in Vienna. They have proven on several occasions that with the right song, they can definitely qualify. Something has to happen with the pre-selection process, it's so out of touch with the general music taste. And based on the comments in here, it's also not really representing the popular music in Portugal, either.

Bummer.......

What pains the most is I don't remember getting nearly as much negativity towards our actually hateful entry from last year.

Strange thing is, Há Um Mar Que Sos separa is quite generally liked around here xshrug

If the general musical taste of Eurovision is the Swedish song this year, or the overrated Italian one for instance then I'm realy glad they are out of touch. There's absolutely nothing 'modern' about Swedish pop schlager or the trio ballad from Italy.
