It's confirmed, the Portuguese song was revamped!
The version handed to the EBU was already the final revamped version. Apparently the song is more rock now, and the instrumental was worked on.
It's not known when this version will be released, but hopefully they're working on a video to go with it!

Glad to hear that. It really needs to be more "rock" to add more oomph to it. It was already a pretty solid song, but it just lacked that extra oomph. Can't wait to hear the revamped version.

For me it needed no extra oomph. Maybe for some it did but I think that doesn't say anything whatsoever about the song and more about the immediate needs of some of the audience. To be honest much of that same audience would love a song with a quick booming hook and then after they have had their fill throw it away on the scrapheap. At least the original version will always be available as a choice for people who want a slow burning and often longer lasting satisfaction.

Now this new version may not weaken it but making it rock could easily ruin the melodic flow and give an excuse to those who said they didn't like her voice just because they heard an earlier disjointed performance of it.


Back on the subject of buzz and reputation discussed earlier. I've always said I've been against juries and I think they are probably the most affected by hype. Most of the televote on the night will only hear the songs for the first time then, though those votes are still likely to show the cultural links of neighbouring countries.

You don't award a meh song 2 points! 4 or 5 would be about right. Come on, 2 points are for bad, terrible songs but you just happen to like the singer's shoes or something.

Even though I think this song is totally out of place in 2015, it still has one of the best choruses this year imo. It's very melodic and melancholic. I guess people don't hear that, because it's very easy to overlook with an otherwise plain presentation and sound

I liked this song already before it has been revamped and there is 99% of probability that I will still love it after the new, revamped version is released. I just hope they don't ruin the song... As it usually happens :?

Macedonia's revamp is one of the best I've ever heard (and I heart it). Portugal has to do something with this song, make it more 'oomph', amke it memorable.

Listened to this song in full today. I thought it was going somewhere good in the verses, and then the chorus happened.... and it fell flat :/ Sad, because Portuguese is a great language to listen to.

It's a shame so many people seem to equate loudness with good, it just indicates a lack of attention I feel. Same with those who say a film that isn't full of blockbuster action isn't any good. It's good to like more subtle things and not follow those trends.

True. My hope with Esc lies on Netherlands 2014. Everyone was bashing the song. YouTube tops ranked it at the bottom. Oh it's boring, not eurovision matterial, yada yada yada. Then came the big final and Bam! Second place.

I'm not comparing the songs in any way, but preconceptions that sometimes fall flat.

That Dutch song was exceptionally well staged and performed, it's almost like a song like that needs to be twice as good as some average loud song with lights flaring up on stage for it to do better.
