I'd love for Portugal to send Vanessa, who I think deserved to represent them in 2010 even though Ha Dias Assim was my favourite that year Her vocals are so incredible, and with an even better song than 'Alvorada' she could do REALLY well at ESC

I liked "Alvorada", though I prefered "Canta por mim". I think Vanessa could do wonders for Portugal with the right song

The article refers to Portuguese from Brazil which sounds pretty different from ours and is indeed particularly musical. But yes, I expect we will keep it in Portuguese, thank you very much

If it's indeed Catarina Pereira as rumoured it is probably up tempo. But it could be ballad, but a upbeat type of ballad if you see what I mean.

Ballad or upbeat, the words Belgium and Reject keep ringing negatively in my ears. Still, since we left it so late to contact the composers, what could we expect?
It might not even be true anyway, this is a rumour if I have ever heard one. And there will always be eight more songs on the line!

i doubt it would be a ballad. remember that the theme for this FDC is "the joy is the tone". i really think this year we will only have upbeat songs.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Remember these themes are somehow open to several interpretations and a ballad doesn't necessarily need to be sad. Even when the theme was Fado, Carlos Costa came up and did his uptempo thingy
So I would expect a few ballads in the lot if I were you

I haven't read this anywhere else yet, but I do hope it's true! This is the year that a song like "Canta por mim" can win, with the 100% televoting format. And I'm happy for Catarina, considering she's been away from public eyes since FdC 2010. Let's she'll have a chance to shine

Another confirmation for FDC. Tóze Santos who composed (Re)Descobrir Portugal in FDC 2012. It endend up last with 0 votes from the public and 1 vote from the jury.

I mean... ARE YOU SERIOUS RTP? same old, same old... The song was awfull, why the hell are you going to invite him again? I'm starting to think that the only foreign composer we are going to see is Andrej Babic. lol

shame on me for believing we were going to have something diferent this year...

He is the composer of one of my dream ESC participants, and one of the most famous artists in Portugal, Aurea! Her style is similar to Amy Winehousea and Duffy's:
