I wouldn't like Nelly to represent us. Most of her songs are generic and bland. And I'm pretty sure she would flop hard.

She can, but her accent is quit hard to understand indeed.

I could never understand a word of what she mumbled
Anyway, she's got one or two interesting songs, but most of them aren't all that great, just like you said.

Not really suprising But I'm happy to see that!
Hopefully something more like "Senhora do mar" or "Canta por mim" instead of "Vida minha". Something like "Canta por mim" will actually likely win, considering we have a 100% televoting format this year. I'd be quite curious to see how a song like that would do in the ESC.
But then again, a song like "Senhora do mar" would probably win the televote against "Canta por mim"

Babic/Coelho is actually not promising at all, his entries are really worn out, and out of this world actually, he is definitely smth Portugal doesn't need now after comeback.. 'Senhora do mar" was good, but I'm afraid it's smth that doesn't work any more, and not to mention his later attempts in FdC which are not good at all..they were quite cheap, dated, and featuring quite bad and inexperienced singers..and I hope he stays away in Slovenian EMA then if he has to participate in FdC! Slovenia doesn't need him as well!

IMO is even better to send Nucha again! With smth like "Chuva" from 2010 FdC , I like her strange and different vocal!

Now I know Portuguese fans will throw stones at me, but I don't care, that is what I think!

I also really like Carla Moreno from 2011 FdC! But without Babic/Coelho of course!!

Carla Moreno maybe, with a good song.
The thing is if Babic and Coelho come up with something you actually like, don't hate on the song just because you don't like the composers

All their songs have been pretty diverse actually, I wouldn't be able to tell they came from the same minds, so I don't see what you mean with tired. It's not as if they have a formula and stick to it.
I'm not crazy about their participation, simply because their songs aren't always a synonym for quality (only Senhora do Mar and Canta por Mim were actually good), but I don't want to write them off, either.
Bitter experience tells me we might need them

That depends who else will take part in Portuguese NF, if somebody fresh, new, with more quality and daring, innovative, different will take part then you don't need them DEFINITELY, if there are only worse and less quality options in a NF, then you do....IMO..

Well, Carlos Coelho and Andrej Babić had found a singer, a it's again Catalina Perreira (I hope I spelled it correctly?) and the song will be similar as Canta por mim. This information gave us Babić's co-worker on the song "Amor", which they've sended at the Belgium NF (and been rejected).

I'd love for Portugal to send Vanessa, who I think deserved to represent them in 2010 even though Ha Dias Assim was my favourite that year Her vocals are so incredible, and with an even better song than 'Alvorada' she could do REALLY well at ESC

I haven't read this anywhere else yet, but I do hope it's true! This is the year that a song like "Canta por mim" can win, with the 100% televoting format. And I'm happy for Catarina, considering she's been away from public eyes since FdC 2010. Let's she'll have a chance to shine
