Re: POLAND 2014

I don't really see any problems with that performance xshrug. A male performer may have done similar with that song and nobody would be saying he's yelling/screaming they would say "look at the emotion, look how he feels the song." But because Edyta is female its just yelling/screaming . There seems to be double standard when it comes to male/female singes and certain types of songs.

Ugh. Spare us.

It's all getting more and more scary. New rumours (gossip pages, information from people who know someone in TVP, pasting the song to the official TVP Facebook, asking "do you like it" ) say that's highly possible we'll be represented by... by... this...

Well, Natasza has been in Piosenka dla Europy before and the song fits the time and age limit...

Seems like it got lots of haters though, but I actually find it... interesting

Re: POLAND 2014

Actually it's now one of the most discussed topics in Polish internet, but as you've noticed, haters are in majority. I must confess I'm one of them. Horrible lyrics, half in Polish, half in English (wielki mi big deal, after czy before, zrobie ci hardcore etc.), hurting ears music, awful video... I cannot believe TVP could be so blind and stupid and don't see how people react to that, but with our beloved broadcaster everything's possible. :(

Re: POLAND 2014

wow that would be such a risky love or hate entry. I'm hope it's just a rumour, despite the song is kinda interesting, cause this would be a total flop in ESC.

That song is AMAZING! What are you on about? ESC needs more songs like this and for countries to take the Montenegro approach...if TVP want to send this then I welcome it!

I really like that song :D it's interesting and would be an eye opener in the line up! However, I think that TVP should send something a bit safer, because I fear that if a song like that fails miserably, they will withdraw again which is not what we want!

I'd rather they sent something daring as a flash in the pan, than stay for a few years sending dreary safe cliché entries

I can't agree that it's amazing, but I do agree that I'd prefer risky over safe and this would indeed be risky! I see the Polish fans hate it, but it's not them voting. I'd actually approve of this entry, it might flop but atleast it would be interesting.

However I'm still rooting for them to pick Halina Mlynkova's "Bóg Tu Zmarł", that would be somewhat risky and interesting, but still far more appealing and classy and I could see it ending up in the top. 10 even:

Re: POLAND 2014

Edyta wrote on her Facebook in English (it's of course about ESC, there are also 4 photos from her '94 performance):

2O years have passed and I still remember every detail.
This was Extreme Experience.
For me it was a power of fear, responsibility & expectations.
But mostly - it was power of LOVE

Hmm... is this supposed to be a clue for us? I hope so ;)

If it is I'll be ready xcheer

You're insulting Montenegro. This is plain noise that doesn't even attempt to create harmony, just as if someone pasted random sounds together in FL Studio and looped it. Actually, that was probably the case. And her vocals is just random chanting.
It's only interesting because it's so bad.
I don't think the right approach to risky entries is to send anything that sounds different, with no regard to musical quality.

I agree about Bóg Tu Zmarł. That would be a top10 material, but unless someone from TVP reads this forum, it's impossible - it has 300 YT views xD

I haven't listened to the song. but it's not polish fans hating, it's polish people in general! 27000 dislikes against a 1000 likes and deactived comments says something

Actually, Natasza's song is not THAT bad, I can understand if people find it disharmonious but that don't necessarily mean that it's bad. One of my fav artist M.I.A. is filled with disharmony that lots of people don't appreciate, I love it though. I do agree though that it's not something amazing by any means, but tbh I'd rather have that than some clichéd cheese ballad anytime... and oh it's better than Montenegro 2012 for sure, I also prefer it to half of the top. 10 of ESC 2013 and I'm not joking but it would be better than most of Poland's entries during the 00's even ... but maybe that tells more about my personal taste in music

Though, "Bóg Tu Zmarł" would be amazing! Dunno if anyone from TVP are checking forums like these, but someone from Magda's team did for sure back in 2011 when they decided to switch back to the original Polish version of that song from the English one after fans "protested". I think Polish fans should reach out to TVP.

And now back to Edyta... you already know she posted on her Facebook:

Now, one of her comments below the post...

I didn't plan to take part again. How it could be possible to beat myself? And what should I go for if not for the win? Kisses!

Maybe... ?

Oh yeah, and you forgot her other comments containing lots of heart and sun emoticons. :D For me it's like "I'm taking part again but I can't announce my decision yet due to TVP restrictions" ;)

Re: POLAND 2014

This is Edyta's status on Facebook. Originally in Polish, it was translated in English by Google Translate:
My Dear,

Discussions on the topic of Eurovision Festival have become louder and louder, so I speak.

That there is no ambiguity in the meaning of my intentions and subsequent topic Festival reports, such as from today, I explain -

20 years ago, despite a historic moment for our country, no one expected me nothing but a confirmation of the experience of cooperation with major orchestras and correctness of execution.
Europe's response surprised everyone. With me at the helm.

Today, these expectations would have been over pressure, which I would like to take.

I wrote on our FB a few days ago, including a discussion with you, I agree with yours thoughts in a certain range. Yes, it would be an unusual way to celebrate this beautiful Jubilee. Yes, it is tempting, but ...

I would have beat myself. I do not think I succeeded. In other words -

NOT preparing for the Eurovision Song Festival.

I'm actually relieved if it's not her tbh xshrug

I do wonder what TVP got in store for us though... I hope they realize that this is a hit-or-miss for them an I hope the coming back won't be just a short fluke so I really cross my fingers they're giving this the proper treatment it deserves and that they will bring us a strong entry (for a change).

Whatever you do TVP, do NOT call in any Swedish team and any of those kitschy Swedish MF singers with Polish background (such as Danny Saucedo or Martin Rolinski) to sing for you, you have your own talents and you don't have to rely on cheap stuff like that. I really hope and cross my fingers that TVP will be daring and send us something that is strong, yet different enough to stand out on its own. The entry is the most crucial thing here because this has been Poland's struggle in ESC for years (ok 2011 was good but failed for other reasons).

Re: POLAND 2014

So we have now official confirmation or rather deny from Edyta herself. Now I am waiting impatiently for the same statement from Natasza's side. :)
