Serbian male handball team qualified for the games after 12 years, and now we had 71 qualified athletes in 11 sports plus added 6 tennis quotas (77 athletes in 12 sports).

In team sports we expect both volleyball teams (male and female) will qualify

Congrats to Serbia and Croatia on their quest for medals in male handball. :D Macedonia, sadly, didn't play good in Sweden and lost all 3 games (28-26 against Hungary, 27-23 against host Sweden and in the last, not very important match, 28-27 against Brazil). At least they got to that point. :)
Also, Macedonia failed to reach an Olympic visa in waterpolo, as Spain defeated them in the 1/4-final in Edmonton with 9-6. Canada also failed, loosing to Greece in the 1/4-final.
Canada and Macedonia faced each other for the 5th place on the tournament and Canada won with 11-10.

Not too much yet; the budget for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be more than that of the Opening Ceremony in Beijing, but obviously that's got to be spent between the two. The theme is 'The Isles of Wonder' which will celebrate the British Isles. The director is Oscar-winning Danny Boyle who directed the film 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip will open the games and a short film of Daniel Craig as James Bond will feature. That's all the details we have atm :D.

Nedžad Mulabegović (athletics, shot put) fulfilled A norm today, in Jamaica Cup in Kingston. So he is qualified for the Olympic games. His shot was 20,66 m, and he won the 2nd place, just behind Reese Hoffa (USA), 20,71 m.

Serbian girls will have another chance two weeks later. I wish them best of luck. I love Serbian team!

Thanks
And yes we have another chance at the end of this month in world qualification and we have great chance to be in top 3 and qualify for OG. Our strongest rivals there will be Russia and Cuba, others are Japan, Peru, Kenya, Korea and Thailand.

I think that the most dangerous for Serbia will be Japan not Russia or Cuba, Korea is also very good team... Our girls were fighting, they made a big surprise to get to final and I hopedcthe win with Turkey (I couldn't watch match and I don't how were they playing). Now they have no chance to qualify :( It's because they're too low in ranking they fell down because of bad tournaments from them (WGP and European Championships) but there were playing our second team, almost all of our best players were injured :(:( In Ankara they won with World Champion Russia, European Champion Serbia, European vice-champion Germany and very good team - Netherlands, they lost only to Turkey. I'm too sad. But congrats to them, I'm them fan since European Championships and wish good luck in London. Anyway I think that this system isn't fair there are only 12 places and teams like Algeria or Dominican Republic are already qualified and such good teams like Serbia, Japan, Russia, Germany, Cuba or even Poland might not qualify...

Madrid, Tokyo and Istanbul will fight to host 2020 Olympic Games. Doha and Baku will have to wait (bad news for them just in their Eurovision week).

I really hope Madrid makes it this time despite of the financial crisis. Actually, almost everything is already built, so..... and that would mean... JOB, JOB, JOB!!!!!!!!
