I cheer for Madrid but I'm almost sure that Istanbul will be 2020 host

It has to be given an opportunity like this to Istanbul anymore as long as they consider Brasil as eager to host both world cup in 2014 and the olympic games in 2016.

Ohh they're good pics! :D Cant wait for it to come through Oldham, no where near as excited about the Olympics as I am about the Jubilee but still, it's an event that I'll probably never see in the UK again in my life, so gotta make the most of it! :D

Yesterday the Olympic torch came to my city! :D

I got to see it three times! Once by the riverfront (picture below) and then we walked to city hall to see it pass by there. There was a protest behind city hall (protesting against police brutality), so the torch bearer had to detour and come back around city hall again, so we got to see it twice there! :D

It was nice to see it - I doubt I'll ever see it again. And there was a party atmosphere in the city. There was also a concert with Snow Patrol playing but I didnt get tickets to that :(

The Olympic Torch has made its way from the United Kingdom into Ireland now, here's a couple of faces you may just know carrying it through Dublin

The torch came by my little village today! A 20 minute stop and all the trimmings. Was a lot of fun. Good to see all the saltires waving. Might post pictures later if I get everything working.
