Aaaw Spice Girls... that was the highlight of the closing ceremony tbh

Some of the choices were odd... they should have highlighted some great current British music (Florence+ Machince, Ellie Goulding)... instead of some really random choices... oh well

That was a mere pop music selling show... very boring.... Beijing was more artistic, and I expect Rio to ignite a Samba-fire.... that's gonna be a great host

Being one of the major Pop nations of the world (imo THE major) that's no wonder?

However, I would have had another setlist though...

However, I would have had another setlist though...

It was just a concert with random songs and very bad acoustics....

And there would have been much bigger stard and songs out there to choose from: Adele, The Ting Tings, Florence.....

Jessie J, Spice Girls, Taio Cruz are just cheesy... and Oasis, George Michael, Bryan May, The Who outdated... I was really embarassed by the CSI theme songs... wtf? Take That were great, but I still wouldnt have needed the others.

Brazil is certainly showing us something different and more exciting, and I fancy their logo a lot..... xheart

Jealousy rajo... what would your country have to present to the world I wonder?
At least Great Britain has the Spice Girls, Jessie J, George Michael, Queen, One Direction... we're going to put them in the closing ceremony because the whole idea was that it's supposed to be a party, to celebrate the ending of the Games, and as a treat for the athletes after their hard work. The opening ceremony is the 'show', we did that brilliantly by showing all things British, our history, our great national institutions, and introducing the world to Great Britain. The closing ceremony is not for anything like that, it's just a celebration.

And before you start talking utter sh*t, Adele's pregnant, The Ting Tings are hardly current or world famous, and Florence + the Machine isnt exactly the most popular music in this country. I bet you didnt even know that Gary Barlow's baby just died a few days ago...

Not sure if serious...

As a hater of pop music, it was a travesty. Why was Jessie J even allowed to come near Brian May? Why were 1 Direction even allowed up at that late hour? The show was never going to be as spectacular or flashy as the opening ceremony but I hoped it would still be quirky. It was just a pop concert :/
Emeli Sande was a big hit for me though, she just rocked it. And kudos to Gary Barlow for performing so soon after his daughter's stillbirth. That must have taken some guts to do.

We chose to never apply for Olympics again, not because recent applications were turned down, but also because people don't back it, the costs are too high, and the experiences from hosting EURO2008 are not too positive. All the benefits go to the associations and commerical sponsors, the losses stay with us. And EURO2012 was a financial desaster as well for the hosts.

And I guess everyone who loves London, was already there and avoided it during Olympics.

This kind of celebration was just fatiguing. If I want to listen to random pop music, I can pop down my disco, go to a concert rather than tuning in for Olympics closing ceremony.

I leave the **** uttering to you, don't worry.
I know who is pregnant, and who is not. The Ting Tings make fabulous and very enjoyable music and they are more famous than Elbow or Kaiser Chiefs, and less sugar poppy than Taio and Jessie.... Florence's songs are anthemic, they would have suited this ceremony much better than "Wannabe", "Dynamite" and "Spice up your life".... But no one forced Britain to make a Best of Britpop-Show in the first place, you could have given us something different. Is the Olympics closing ceremony compilation already out on iTunes?

And with Gary Barlow, I guess you didn't know that I knew that his baby died, but what's the point here?

Well it wasnt exactly all pop, there was much there that I didnt like which means that it wasnt pop - Muse, Queen a couple to mention. But you dont say that ceremony was bad just because not all the songs were to your taste like rajo's saying...

As much as I love Muse, their song for the Olympics is horrible. Check the lyrics.

btw. what was the matter with the horrible headlines on the newspaper floor on the stadium? They were not random!

"Rest in Silence"... "There will be blood..." "Die awfully...." WTF was that?!?! What was played there right in plain sight? I guess I am getting ridiculed again, but it's sufficient if only 2% wake up and the rest of the sheeple sleep on.

Oh poor you.

Why you'd watch it then?? You're a troll, your only purpose here is to wind people up, I dont remember you previously being like this but you've become unbearable of late...
The athletes were buzzing, the nation's buzzing and Id imagine the vast majority of viewers around the world are buzzing, that's good enough for me :D.

If you think we've gone and got it wrong, Id guess that we've got it pretty damn right tbh. You're not impartial at all, Great Britain showcased our 'greats' tonight, Florence and The Ting Tings are not greats in any way, shape or form, they're middle-of-the-road artists who'll be long forgotten about next decade. I was looking at old photos of I think it was my 4th birthday party, at a place called Funbay 1 and there were pictures of us dancing to the Spice Girls with the girls there wearing Spice wigs - the Spice Girls are legends that will live on and on forever, love them to bits. Their return was magical, and I have never really been much of a fan before xheart.

The only thing that is unbearable is your ignorance and your nationalism. You want your country to host the Olympics, but you are not happy if other countries than those who are friendly to, win. So I guess they better stayed at home, unless they wanted to indulge in the awkward moments of winning in front of hostile spectators.

And of course your particular sexualised view on anything with three legs is annoying. If I told you that I look great, I guess you would virtually sit on my lap.

I took part in a live chat on a news website and all the guys were pretty annoyed by the show...... of course there has been some cheering for some stars, but overall it was tiresome, and I didn't expect it to be so boring.

The Spice Girls are gay icons. Why would any boy love them unless he didn't want to be a Spice Girl himself? I guess you also fancy my little pony....

And honestly, I didn't watch the Olympics at all, just the opening and the closing ceremonies.... happy now? I hope so.

President Obama has phoned Prime Minister David Cameron immediately once he returned to 10 Downing Street from the Olympic Stadium to congratulate the United Kingdom on "the most fantastic and wonderful Games". In return, the Prime Minister congratulated the United States on their victory, saying that he is "very happy that [they] won". :D :D :D :uk: :us:
