Thanks to all the athletes, the spectators, the viewers from around the world, the people of London and all the organisers, volunteers and to the forces/security men and women who've kept us and our guests safe! It's been awesome, the greatest two weeks in our country's modern history! So proud of what we've done as a nation, and may the legacy live-on!!!
Thank you too to all of Team Great Britain, they've exceeded all our expectations, so proud of them!

And yes, I am so sad that our time is over, but we must celebrate the greatness, joy and happiness of the last 2 weeks :D. I have fallen in love with this competition since my eyes first fell upon the Olympic Flame all those months ago xheart.

Every other Olympics are hosted by an anglo-american country. It's like telling the world that half of it is English.

So, I guess we will have Olympics very soon in USA, Canada, Australia, Britain or Guernsey

Her Majesty The Queen is not attending tonight, the younger members of the Royal Family are. However, she has released a message of thanks to everybody involved in London 2012 and has promised to watch on TV from Balmoral Castle in the Highlands of Scotland, where she spends her summers.

The concert is followed by the appearance of the athletes who say their farewells en masse, not divided by country, a way of bringing the competitors together as ‘one nation’. Now if this isn’t blatant brainwashing, then I don’t know what is. The message couldn’t be clearer i.e. that nation states don’t matter or count anymore. It’s all about a New World Order and a One World Government.

Worst closing ceremony ever. After an hour and a half of watching and still waiting for something to actually happen, I had to turn it off. It bored me to tears. It was like watching a concert with artists I don't care about and songs I don't like.

The opening ceremony was so epic, what a giant anticlimactic failure this was!

It's all about British music industry... "Please buy our records everybody".... really boring.....

Even the rituals were not as good as in the opening.... but I guess such a stadium would look great in Eurovision..
