I don't doubt her being the most famous person in the Commonwealth, and those countries who used to belong to the British empire. Her face may be the most reproduced in the world, but most of that stays within the Commonwealth, you know. There's more to the world than what is or used to be under British rule. Outside of the Anglosphere, there are lots of people who don't know what she looks like. She's hardly ever in the media over here, if at all. Diana was way more in the media here than the queen's ever been. I didn't know what she looked like until I visited the UK for the first time when I was 14 and saw her face everywhere on currency, stamps and such. I bet lots of young people here don't even know her name. How many British kids (or adults for that matter) know who the Swedish king and queen are?

Again, the UK and your beloved Queen isn't the center of the world, even if you like to think so.
Okay course you're right. Yep, yep, always right. Never wrong no, that's impossible.

It's got nothing to do with being wrong or being right. I'm just telling you that there are definitely people who don't know who your queen is. But clearly you don't want to hear it because it clashes with your world view.

I'm not saying she isn't hugely famous. She is without a doubt one of the most famous people in the world. But the most famous real person ever? I think that is just your wishful thinking.

Look at what one of my Irish friends had to say about London 2012 :D
"The British should be so proud absolutely amazing olymipics 2012 closing show pure class outstanding outstanding outstanding well done ."
Here's what been showing up at my Facebook newsfeed from British people:

"God Save Our Gracious Old Bitch....who couldn't even be bothered showing up for the ceremony. F*** the whole f***ing thing."

"Was a waste of time n money. Was determined not to watch it but was flicking. Pile of crap!"
"Accidentally caught a glimpse of the Olympics Closing Ceremony. I hate having to swallow back vomit."
"God save the hhhuuueeerrrghghhhhhhh.."

:p

You keep getting excited over stupid Eurovision, it's all your worth. At least my country can host the Olympic Games and host it like no other. You get all excited over hosting some karaoke competition, LMFAO. How simple :').

LoL so it's resorting to playground comebacks is it? Are you really measuring a country's worth in what events it can host? Says more about you than it does me.

And besides, this is a Eurovision forum, don't we all get excited about Eurovision?! I honestly could care less about Sweden hosting another Olympics.

Yeah because trying to bring you down to the ground a bit and off that high superiority horse is playground tactics. Or not.
Are British people not allowed to be on the high superiority horse after 4 hours since the closing of our hosting of the world's greatest event??
I am done with this forum, Id get more sense if I walked outside and talked to the brick wall for a few hours. The vast majority of you are unreasonable and arrogant people who buzz of each others ego's.

Of course you're allowed to be happy and proud of the Olympics, but the difference with you is that you're never off the high superiority horse - ever. So excuse me for being tired of it.

Maybe you are on the wrong site then, since you clearly don't like Eurovision. Anna's right, you are resorting to playground insults and making yourself look petty and arrogant.

I wanna say THANK YOU to the United Kingdom for these wonderful games. It was great!!! xrose

And I´m mostly happy for the German team about 44 medals. I think, it´s a very good result.

I didn't watch any of the Olympics, so I can't say whether it was good or not, but I bet it was for those who are into that sort of stuff. I only watched the opening ceremony (which was amazingly fantastic!!!) and the closing ceremony (which was embarrassingly rubbish).

:)

If by Euro-loving you mean the EU, then you're wrong. I'm against the EU. If by Euro-loving you mean the ESC? Then damn right I am. All YOU have done is make yourself look "pig ignorant" as you put it yourself. You clearly have very little knowledge of the world outside of the Commonwealth and former British Empire.

I hope everyone is aware, that the medal count can still change throughout the next 12 (!) years or more, because the methods of verifying drug abuse and doping are often a bit late.

First victim is Belorussian shot putter Nadeshda Ostaptchuk who lost her Gold due to steroide abuse.

I could tell by her pic that she was an abuser:

Lucky now:

1.Valerie AdamsNZL
2.Jewgenia KolodkoRUS
3.Gong LijiaoCHN

So, NZL climbs up the medal count, Belarussia drops.
