Babe, are you hiding? Are you alright?
You look like an angel, that fell from the sky
And boy you keep talkin', massaging my ego
With your unoriginal pickup line

Hell no, I'm not your honey
Hell no, I don't want your money
Got it wrong, I ain't into dummies
No-o-o-o

So baby, it's not a maybe
Yeah, I'm too good to be true, but there's nothing in it for you
So if I show some skin, it doesn't mean I'm giving in
Not your baby

Je me casse, je me casse
If you don't get it (Je me casse)
Je me casse, je me casse
I'm not your baby

Boy, are you pouring that drink in my hand?
Thinking if I'm drunk then, I'll give you a chance
Boy, you keep buying and complaining so stop trying
Not gonna give it up and change my plans

Hell no, I'm not your honey
Hell no, I don't want your money
Got it wrong, I ain't into dummies
No-o-o-o

So baby, it's not a maybe
Yeah, I'm too good to be true, but there's nothing in it for you
So if I show some skin, it doesn't mean I'm giving in
Not your baby

Je me casse, je me casse
If you don't get it (Je me casse)
Je me casse (Je-je-je me casse)
If you don't...

Ladies, if you feel like flaunting tonight, it’s alright, it's alright
Ladies (Ladies), listen to me!
Listen and go right ahead, show you're shining

If you don't get it, if you, if you dont' get it (Je me casse)
If you don't get it, if you, if you don't get it
Excuse my French

Baby, it's not a maybe
Yeah, I'm too good to be true, but there's nothing in it for you
So if I show some skin, it doesn't mean I'm giving in
Not your baby

Je me casse
Je-je-je me casse
I'm not your baby

There are gossips ... some say that Maltese even bribe the juries. I don't believe in that but they sure are pushy in their way of promoting themselves. But it's a fact that Malta regularly gets placed much higher by the juries than by televote, with the most drastic example being 'Walk On Water' in 2016. It was in top 5 with the juries but has scored peanuts in the televote.

I mean, yeah, they're passively aggressive when it comes to promoting their entries. They've had a trend of sending jury bait entries though, and poor Malta literally have no natural support when it comes to televote so it really saddens me to see them struggle every year

They should have finished higher a couple of times in my opinion. But their entries are very hit or miss with me. Overall it is one of my least favourite Eurovision countries (I mean in terms of their entries). They have sent some absolute schlock in the past but it's a small country so it is partially excused.

But I really appreciate their efforts considering they're such a small country. I think they can just sometimes come across as an inferior version of Sweden, Australia, Russia, etc. who've been similar types of entries, just executed them a lot better on stage. But they're a lot bigger than Malta so it makes me root for them xlove

They are so underrated by the public vote every year, which is why I'm happy that the jury balances it out and makes it so that Malta even has a chance. Its one of my favourite Eurovision countries, along with Bulgaria, Australia and Sweden, so I somehow always tend to agree with the jurys more than the televote. I really want Malta to do well, they deserve it.

I can only see MALTA winning this year, burying everyone in a landslide of seismic proportions with the juries.

I’ve never placed a bet on Eurovision before but tbh I’m considering it with Malta.

I can absolutely see the landslide in the jury if she nails it as we all know she can

Maybe it can do a Dami. Landslide the jury vote and do well enough in the televote that it might win depending on how the other acts do with the juries/public

Malta... maybe they might ace the juries, but the televote? Not that I don't have any bias about it, but "Je Me Casse"'s chorus doesn't have an easy-to-grasp melody and the hook is not that earworm-y enough (you know, 'Je Me Casse, Je Me Casse') and the saxophones aren't also as magical as the ones from SunStroke Project (and you know Hey Mamma is a televote gold), but it does make your feet dance. I've to argue that even 'Chameleon' and her previous entry 'All of My Love' were more earworm-y. I could imagine Chama-Chameleon or the Brother-Mother-Child part to be shouted by live audiences or the ones at home, while with this one would people grasp "Je Me Casse" straight up in their memory and shout it? I feel it's gonna be too fast and a bit unfamiliar for the casual televoters.

I don't know what would happen with Malta as of now. We remember last time they went all out with staging and promotion but then got the dead no. 1 spot and rewarded with 20 points. Heck, even 🇦🇲 is not here, but thankfully there's still 🇦🇿 and 🇦🇺 (and also 🇲🇰 to a certain degree) which usually helped them getting these televote points. I think they can succeed in the televote to a certain degree, then might get forgotten entirely in the grand final, as per usual. I think it comes to the approach of the staging, and if Malta can prove their staging will be as fun as expected, maybe they'll have more success???

--------------------

P.S. I also found a performance of Destiny singing 'All of My Love'

I found her performing it really well, although prone to overshouting at the high notes. I feel 'Je Me Casse' will be lighter to perform than 'All of My Love', but proner to shouting. Good thing is, 'Je Me Casse''s high notes are pretty short, so I believe she can do it delightfully and inhale easier after these notes.

I don't believe it will landslide the jury albeit it can win here, but not overall ... I don't think so. Demi was quite far from a victory and it was a better song imho, albeit also very different one.

At this moment right now I have a feeling it will be between Sweden and Malta this year.
Please no, 'Voices' would be the worst winner since 'Running Scared' in my view. And Sweden will sink hard in the televote I believe, the song is just way too beige for the current ESC. I don't see Sweden hitting triple digit score in it that would be necessary to win the ESC. But maybe I am wrong and I will scratch my head in disbelief in May.

She better not pull a Dami, I'm still not over the trauma of one of my favourite ever Eurovision entries losing out to a song that I didn't connect with at all, I don't want my hopes crushed like that marginally again. Plus with the new method of announcing the televotes, it would be so sad to see Destiny miss out on victory marginally.

I can see this do decently in the televote for some reason, and winning the jury by quite a margin, and squeaking out a victory, but then again what do I know, I thought Chameleon would come top 10, and in the end it got 20 points from the public. Although I still believe that was down to the running order. In any case I am very sure this will be Malta's best result in a long time.

Yeah, I believe too it will bring Malta a good result. Top 10 is a minimum.

It's a NO from me. And I loved Electro Velvet.

Idk but she's trying too hard and now the bookies try to hype her. Not a terrible song of course but 1 point from me because this as a whole is not my cup of tea at all. A downgrade from last year's entry for my taste

Well Malta is rising up in the odds , peaking at no. 1. In 2019 , Malta was shown to have used bots to increase the number of views of their entry on YouTube. This year similar allegations are being put regarding their rise in betting odds. What do you guys think ?

If the thing you're talking of is Malta betting on themselves, I think that's not very probable. Marketing a video on youtube is quite cheap, the money you'd need to bet on an entry so as to make its odds change is huge in comparison. And you'd have to do it for multiple betting agencies as well.

After watching the performance, I realize I don't particularly enjoy Destiny's vocal tone. She sounds like she is growling when she sings. Very Christina Aguilera. It grates on you after a while. And she looked pretty static in the performance. Hopefully, she will be able to bring the "fun" of this year's entry on stage when she performs.

Apparently you can use robots to make multiple small bets , causing a country to appear high in number of bets placed on sites and fooling a few people to make real bets !
They are unlikely to spend that kind of money just to create hype that they're actually putting in huge amounts of money on themselves in the midst of a pandemic. But I do understand your point of view.
