This is a phenomena around the world with "Island-people", I think Fiji or American Samoa is ranked the "most obese" in the world... maybe fish oil products from an early stage in life (since seafood is common)?

But then again seafood is also common in coastal countries like Portugal and Greece, and they're pretty slim...

And no, this is no attempt at "fat-shaming", it is simply not healthy for a young person to be too overweight (or anyone for that matter), so let's be medically real here. But other than the weight, I am always surprised how an 18-year old girl can look like she's at least 35yo (maybe the weight adds to that I dunno?).

If I remember, "Chameleon" was released on Spotify AFTER the actual contest

I just checked my Spotify playlist. I have added "Chameleon" to my playlist on 4-Apr-2019. So it was released before the contest, but only way too late than the other entries of that year.

Oh really? Because I remember I was desperately looking for it on Spotify but gave up because it never showed up, and after the contest I finally found it and added it to my Euovision playlist

Maybe I gave up too fast? Or maybe it was geo-blocked somehow? I really couldn't find it! I was living in another country back then though and had a local Spotify prescription, I remember alot of stuff that I find now were not available then hmm

Though it has the benefit of a live performance and we all know Destiny can sing, so let's wait and see if they get the staging right this year

Okay, so this is definitely better and stands out more than her utterly forgettable previous entry. The lyrics are a bit negative and bitchy, but it might not seem that way in the full context of the live performance, and the ingredients for a memorable show with great staging is there. Still don't think Malta will do very well no matter what they send, but i think along with San Marino they can hope for a mid-field placement at best, possibly just sneak into the left side.

I have just read that people from Malta are the fattest in Europe so obesity being ubiquitous among Maltese singers is not a coincidence! Malta has the highest rate of obesity in Europe.

I have just read that people from Malta are the fattest in Europe so Maltese singers being overweight is na coincidence! Malta has the highest rate of obesity in Europe.

Yup, I have never been struck by some big number of overweight folk in Greece either. According to this map and some others they are though close to European top in this regard. In Czech Republic though indeed it was a common sight (more than in Poland) so this map is eerily accurate in my experience here.

I've seen Destiny belt out a good ballad, but I wonder if she's got the sass and personality that this song needs live? And while people are talking about obesity and I know the song has been compared to Netta's toy, I really hope Destiny doesn't do anything that takes her breath away. You'd think Netta had been running a marathon after she was done performing her song

Hmm, not sure how accurate this data is or how it's measured... so some of these come as a surprise to me (like Ukraine and Belarus for instance being so high, never met anyone fat from there and can't recall seeing any fat people when I've been in Ukraine, however Portuguese, Bosnians and Moldovans are pretty slim from my observations so seems accurate... oh well...)
