The love is real. Not sure if enough in numbers, but real.

It seems to be getting some momentum in the fandom, a bit worried about the casual viewer ngl. All those videos out there with "I showed the esc songs to my non-esc friends"... Well, the reactions seem to be lukewarm at best :-/
most of those are based off that official video that gives you a snippet of the chorus. It doesn't show the experimental start, the indie rock build up, and a lullaby release... one of the major things people who love this point out is the song structure, which you can't get from that snippet... nor you can be assaulted by that weird but satisfying 5/4 signature from verses.

Yeah. I will spend all my votes on them as well. But I guess my late found optimism is to be considered wishful thinking, looking at the big picture

I mean if we look at the big picture, it might not be guaranteed but at least there's still a chance and that it's not a DOA, even the producers didn't put it in the dead spot in the running order (they could just like how they put Serbia in 3rd spot again). At the end of the day, anything could happen, and it is the public votes only that will put an entry to the grand finals. So if can, let's vote guys xcheer

wait its one euro just to vote in france? in the uk that gets you nearly six votes
It's actually 0,99€, but yeah, it's way more expensive than in the UK or Germany while looking at the spreadsheet with all the prices around Europe. In my opinion, there are not so many votes on SF in France because not so many people are watching + it's expensive to vote, so I wish that my votes will put Latvia in France's top 10.

the more i think about it, the more i like the running order for Latvia.
public will be warmed up by easy listening stuff from Norway and Malta. then they will be thrown for a loop with Serbia. If it goes well, it's still a bit too weird for most, if it goes like it's been going in the pre-parties, it's gonna be weird and messy.
So regardless after that you get a lot more radio friendly song, that has just enough weirdness to elevate it over the "yeah i have heard smth like that on the radio yesterday". Hopefully the local commentators will give a one-liner about the song's message, and an average listener is ready for the experience.

I'm glad that latvia's favorite song is Saudade Saudade, so I hope they can capture intimate camera shot. For me when they do the camera shot intimate, it'll help to ease the problem of forget-ableness.

Out of the 10 rehearsal pictures, I have 3(4 if sweden is not a sure qualifier) that don't look promising, Swiss, Croatia, and Ireland.

I actually disagree tbh. I could see our televote giving them points. For example, in 2017, 'Blackbird' finished 4th in our televote and we were also the only country to give points to 'My Turn'. 'De Diepte' did extremely well with us last year and Systur were also top10 in our televote in the semi. Honestly, I see us liking 'Aijā' more than something like 'Samo mi se spava'. We usually give points to entries that lean towards indie.

I like a lot both Samo mi se spava and Aija!

Oh I didn't mean it like people can't like both. I was just referring to the tendencies of the Portuguese televote. It was just an example cause it's a fan favourite but it's also quite alternative.
