They are massively underrated and it is kinda sad that OGAEs haven't given a single point yet
Albania and Austria were top ten last year and didn’t qualify and France was 6th lolThat's probably a good sign.
oooppps I already have my avatar
No matter how many times he's telling me "don't cry", my tears keeps on pouring. my heartI'm not crying. You are.
Yeah. I was kinda sad when I saw zero points in the OGAE scoreboard. But then again, they all vote for the same 10 to 12 songs and ignore the rest.
The love is real. Not sure if enough in numbers, but real.Oh Latvia... my beloved.
Right from the beginning my attention is caught by the intricate beat. Then it's followed by the first chorus that just radiates with melancholy... I can sort of picture a dark highway in late autumn with yellow lights passing by. As life passing by. (oh no amateur poetry) And that guitar in the background echoing... mmm. Good stuff.
But that last part... Dang that last part always gets me!! It's what made me fall in love in the first place! You have all these hauntng guitars, experimental beats, and otherwise powerful things going on throughout the song, and then it all just culminates into this somber ending that sort of fades away slowly and... it's just so good! Ah!
And idk if it's the absolute insanity of the last 4 years (both global and personal) that makes this song hit hard... well it probably is. Most likely.
I really hope this qualifies. I mean, Portugal 2022 (another great one) would have still qualified even with only the televoting, so surely this one can too... right?
Final score: points

It seems to be getting some momentum in the fandom, a bit worried about the casual viewer ngl. All those videos out there with "I showed the esc songs to my non-esc friends"... Well, the reactions seem to be lukewarm at best :-/
Yeah. I will spend all my votes on them as well. But I guess my late found optimism is to be considered wishful thinking, looking at the big picture :-/This. I think we have to face it that Latvia most probably won’t qualify.
That doesn’t mean I don‘t try - I will still spend my votes on them in the semi, but this song is a mood, a mood that doesn’t grab the audience immediately. It’s too soft to stand out in that loud and crazy semi.
I have a little hope but I‘m being realistic.
Most people really didn’t respond too well to the song and it’s a shame.
But this is also Eurovision: discovering new music to add to the playlist. Not everyone can be a winner. I‘m happy for them they gained a bunch of new fans.
I actually disagree tbh. I could see our televote giving them points. For example, in 2017, 'Blackbird' finished 4th in our televote and we were also the only country to give points to 'My Turn'. 'De Diepte' did extremely well with us last year and Systur were also top10 in our televote in the semi. Honestly, I see us liking 'Aijā' more than something like 'Samo mi se spava'. We usually give points to entries that lean towards indie.Yeah. I will spend all my votes on them as well. I don't even think it'll make a difference in the portuguese televote. Not something we'd usually go for. And as far as the national fandom group is concerned, I read a load of people saying they love the song but won't vote for it cause it might ruin Mimicat's chances... Totally not the way I live Eurovision, but to each their own I guess.
Yeah, you're right. I sometimes forget that there's life outside Tugavision xDI actually disagree tbh. I could see our televote giving them points.
