Re: KAZAKHSTAN 2012

When you want to identify yourself as white European you call yourself as Caucasian but what about Kazach people with mongolian face type? How can we identify them as Europeans?

You should be ashamed of your self to be called european

Re: KAZAKHSTAN 2012

I wanted to say this in my previews post, but I forgot.

1) What's wrong with having a Mongolian face type after all?
2) Eldar looks like an Asian guy too. Is he "less-European"?
3) We saw a lot of times singers that have African or Asian descent in Eurovision, like Chanée, Jessy Matador, Senit, Simon Webbe...

Why do you take it as a critic?! There is nothing wrong with mongolian type of race at all. Kazakhstan should match Asiavision better than Eurovision, because their anthropology suits Asia rather than Europe. If it would be racism to discuss different type of anthropology, than people would simply call themselves as human, and there wont be anthropology science at all. Again, I dont think so that calling someone mongolian or Chinese type of face is insult. It is just different and belongs to the different part of the world. Some Asian countries much more developed than some European and nothing wrong with them.

^ we don't accept countries by race ;)

As well as people of all nationalities can participate/vote in ESC.
Europe for Europeans principle sucks. Rather reminds me a fascist philosophy.

So what? The thing that they have different type of face structure doesn`t make them less european. Kazakhstan is close to european culture, because they are close to the russians. And like we all know, russians are very much influenced by the french...

Like I said,

Yes anthropology is a science. But I'm sure that's all you know about it. Don't even try to say it without knowledge. Eurovision is just a music contest and anthropology has nothing to do with it ! What if Mongolia was in Europe ?

I don't care about culture or face or anythig! The map says that 5-10 % of :kz: is in Europe so if they want to take part they are welcome! What the map says is more important for me then what people want! :D

From EBU rules:

European Broadcasting Area: is bounded on the west by the western boundary of Region 1, on the east by the meridian 40° East of Greenwich and on the south by the parallel 30° North so as to include the northern part of Saudi Arabia and that part of those countries bordering the Mediterranean within these limits. In addition, Iraq, Jordan and that part of the territory of Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey and Ukraine lying outside the above limits are included in the European Broadcasting Area.

They would be welcome to Eurovision.
Sure, only 5-10% of them is in Europe, but in fact, they are a bit European.

Re: KAZAKHSTAN 2012

It will be very lame if they don`t let Kazakhstan ONLY for that...

It isn't only for the culture, because, in that case, then I'd like to see Australia and South Africa in Eurovision.... places where ESC is really followed more than some european countries... ;)

I think if Kazakistan wanted to join EBU and Eurovision.. they would have done already 2-3 years ago. If they haven't done it... probably they can't...

They had 3 years already since ESC 2009, trying to get in...¡¡¡ I wonder why the EBU refused..??

Re: KAZAKHSTAN 2012

To be fair i'm sure Wien is almost at equal distance between Iceland & Kazakhstan.

But you know europe is not only about frontiers, for me it's all about history, war (i know it's lame but it is a big part of our comon history and we shouldn't forget it) , writting, sports, Arts, sometimes religions, cooking, lifestyle and so many much things we have in common.

That's why according to me Russia & Turkey are 100% European despite having some parts of their countries arguably in Asia because of that and so is Israel because of that.

And i'not sure Kazakhstan is.

I have nothing against them but if we keep going new frontiers, Syria, Egypt, Morroco And then Uzbekistan, Tunisia, Sudan, Iran a lot of countries which i have nothing against at all but which are not in Europe.

I think EBU should work on getting all Europe in the contest, starting with Montenegro & Luxembourg rather than letting non European Countries in.

Re: KAZAKHSTAN 2012

Because the entire Republic of Azerbaijan is in the EBU zone due to it:

The VAST majority of Russia is not in the European broadcasting zone xshrug

ps. Did you "forget" about another rule? being a member of European Council? :D
If Kazakhstan is being accepted in 2013-2015 the EBU can make an exception. Or even extend EBZ if neccessary (judging from that map it won't be such a big extension). The last time they did that was in 2006.

And Kazakhstan was heavily influenced by Russia and Turkey.
Maybe some of them have Asian faces but they have cyrillic alphabet, they speak Kazakh and Russian, they are UEFA members, they will join European Council, not to mention that they collaborate with/want to join EU. I guess they've already made their choice.
As for religion... say this to Turkey, Morocco and Azerbaijan.

ps. Morocco is not the new frontier btw, they've already participated. Egypt is not the new frontier either, they are EBU members. Syria - not sure that they want that ;) Same for Uzbekistan

Kazakhstan is probably the only one non-European country (not counting Israel) which has close ties with Europe and which expressed its desire to enter EU. Currently European Council and Kazakstan work on "European path" project. I haven't heard any serious intentions from those countries which you've mentioned :geek:
