Sanremo 2021: Vote for YOUR favourite!

Loro non sanno di che parlo
Voi siete sporchi, fra’, di fango
Giallo di siga’ fra le dita
Io con la siga’ camminando
Scusami, ma ci credo tanto
Che posso fare questo salto
Anche se la strada è in salita
Per questo ora mi sto allenando

E buonasera signore e signori
Fuori gli attori
Vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni
Vi conviene stare zitti e buoni
Qui la gente è strana, tipo spacciatori
Troppe notti stavo chiuso fuori
Mo’ li prendo a calci, ‘sti portoni
Sguardo in alto, tipo scalatori

No

Io ho scritto pagine e pagine
Ho visto sale, poi lacrime
Questi uomini in macchina

Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
E parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cosa parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
Parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cazzo parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla

Guys I know that means nothing but it's some kind of indication or trend.
We are going to get France's second place on top of the odds.

I'm just reacting to the first part. While I appreciate your deep analysis and the time it must has taken, I feel like you missed a point.
People aren't denying the complexity of rock, neither the work and technique artists must display to perform. What they are saying is that feels like it's screaming/shouting/simple whatever they say. Which is not the same. It's a matter of facts vs impressions. They aren't stupid, we're all music lovers here, with our own taste, we know there's more to it than what we perceive, but that's the point : in the end, what allows us to make a judgment and decide whether we like or dislike a song, is the impression it gives us.

Here you talked in length about the vocals techniques of rock, I'll give you another example : Ukraine. Katya has a particular singing style, the white voice, which is traditionally found in Eastern Europe. You will find poss there where people either love it or think it's shrinking. They know it's a hard technique, they know that's the point of the whole song. They still don't like it, and that's fine.

In conclusion, yes, you can prove that a genre displays more versatility or more technique than what appears at first, but you can't change how people perceive it.
Edweis, if everything was based on simple personal taste I understand it. I don't understand instead wanting to find faults where there are none. I only answered those who gave me wrong examples (lyrics and voice). It is the desire to raise subjectivity as objectivity that I do not understand.

Rock is made up of different styles and contaminations and what some call "shouting" is actually a vocal technique and has a specific meaning to define a state of mind. You see, you took Ukraine as an example and I liked that very much. Do you know why? You looked beyond the music. This was not done by certain people who vehemently opposed our song right from the start. There was prejudice. They did not go down to evaluate the technique even for a moment (as you did for the voice of the Ukrainian singer) and to open up to a new sound (which this time is not an "old ballad"). If with each of our songs I always see the same individuals criticizing our work, can we really say that it is "personal tastes"?

I don't mind "Shum" as a song but obviously it's not my taste. It is repetitive and the ostentatious ballet irritates me. Perhaps I would have been less strict if we had limited ourselves to evaluating "Shum" as an excellent song rather than a masterpiece to be transcribed on the walls of the buildings from here until the end of time.

I conclude by writing this to you, do you know why ballets irritate me? Because today they are the most banal form of supplying something simply good, mediocre or bad with content. I'll give you as an example our Achille Lauro who here in Italy some crazy people are comparing to Renato Zero, David Bowie and Marilyn Manson ... in reality he is not too innovative a showman, a boy who is also good but who is not a singer. . His songs will be forgotten because they have no "body" and he is not bringing any innovation because instead of imitating he is just ape. The ballet, the make-up, the grimace must have a meaning and a position! If not, it's just smoke and mirrors.

I appreciated your analysis, and from the few conversations I've had with you, you seem like a tough, combative girl. If I weren't in love with Franzilein, I'd flirt with you! xlove

Seriously , it's always a pleasure to talk to you and it's a pleasure to see DenizESC happy to feel protected by your words.

What's this thing Italy has for sending songs with so many words in them, anyway? I still think with a good staging and performance it could stand out enough to get a decent placement, considering the equally wordy and musically dull "Non mi avete fatto niente" got fifth place, top 10 is not unreasonable for this as well.

The reason is that Sanremo it's not strictly an ESC selection, Sanremo is The Italian Music Festival, all the contestants write for the Italian audience/market and do not care about staging or costumes. Even if i do not like my coutry's entries, (like Il Volo or Emma), I'm glad that we bring songs that belong to our culture and not something artificial just made to please international audience.

Italian is a romance language, we come from the latin Ars Oratoria. Musically we have a huge legacy of poetic singer-songweiters such as De Andrè, Lucio Dalla, Franco Battiato and so many others. Most of the contemporay musicians and authors can only dream to mimic that golden-age era lirically speaking.

This is way we send wordy entries. You cannot write good poetry without words.. unless you are Hermetic.

Mauve, you are the voice of my reason, that little angel who whispers sweet words over my shoulder.

I do not disagree with what you say and I do not pretend to make people adapt to my tastes and thoughts. I also accept 0 (not everyone loves Rock). However, when I see "empty theses" being systematically brought by the haters, don't I have to tell them they are wrong? Perhaps my monologues are very sharp but I, to dear Daniels, have only explained that "the inarticulate scream" makes sense. The same thing I did when I read that the Maneskin lyrics are tough ... Maneskins are angels compared to other rockers talking about drugs, sex, violence and newborn fetuses scattered on the floor. People have to overcome ignorance (a form of not knowing) with education.

Do you know what bothered me? Not the judgment per se of these people but the making of "a national body of dissent". For me this hides malice. Maybe I'm wrong but this was my impression. It bothered me to read about users threatening their friends to unfriend them if they voted for us. It annoyed me that every year a way is found to attack us vehemently. I am bothered by the lack of objectivity ... that lack of objectivity that brings beautiful songs to be sunk and songs to Benjamin Ingrosso praised. There is something beyond musical taste, Mauve. Then there are eurofans like RainyWoods that I respect from the bottom of my heart and others like Anaraqueen that I am learning to appreciate.

I am not interested in anything, we will do our fair competition.

Anyway ... forgive me my oratory art ... Cicero's blood is likely to run in my veins haha. My words are worse than flaming arrows haha.
I absolutely agree on everything you said. And yes: There is something beyond musical taste! I nknow that some users lack of objectivity and I sometimes feel that there is pure malice behind their bashing. We have had that enough regarding our German entries over the years. It is absolutely okay for me when someone EXPLAINS why they don't like a song (like Jendrik's), but some only hate on it because they want to hate. But in the meanwhile I just shrug my shoulders because people are who they are. Heraklit once wrote that "The character is the fate of a human being. This statement can't be more true. And I learned of it. Just as you learned from Cicero. xheart

Haha art for me is a passion. Sometimes I exaggerate but I don't do it on purpose. Since you're drinking a spritz ... buy me one! I have a dry throat too! xheat:lol:

Un caro saluto, amico :gimmefive:
I appreciate all your thoughts.
Art is my passion too but my English knowledge does not permit me to express more articulated feelings as you do.
After that spritz I'm a bit up and listened ZeB loudly 3 times.

Nobody should be held accountable for their taste lol we are not obliged to have a consistent taste, we like what we like and we are not obliged to stan a whole genre on its own lol I can like a particular rock song (hello :hu: 2018) but hate others (:it: 2021)

All in all, for me this song is soooooooo bad and a disgrace on all the rock entries we had in the contest before, sorry not sorry italyyyy mwahhhh

Ofkors everybody loves me, even my haters, because i’m not a troll like you.

Just before you even attempt:

I don't want anybody to tell me what to like and what not to. It's nobody's business but my own. Okur? I want you to know this very well before engaging in any conversation with me. So don’t forget that.
Have a fabulous day sis.
