Wait he only came 3rd in the televote why is nobody outraged and attempting to browbeat him into quit like they did with Mahmood...oh right.

Honestly this whole thing has felt like a reaction to Mahmood's win in the worst possible ways, hence the extremely conservative final group (yes, PTN are conventional for Italy!) and the skewed voting system to prevent anyone they don't want getting popular somehow slipping through the net. A huge step backwards for Italy, they had several potential Eurovision winners and threw them all out in the name of Upholding the Traditional Values of the Festival or whatever, which I'm sure only a few boomer politicians actually care about.

As for Diodato... it's there. There are a few nice touches to the production here and there but ultimately it's just another Sanremo ballad that people will pretend to like because they think it makes them seem sophisticated.

:10: Incredible and simply beautiful. It's my favourite one by miles now. Thank you, Italy, for submitting such a quality entry to Eurovision again!

Well, guess Italy won't get my 12 three years in a row. A ballad is definitely not what I wanted from them after Mahmood but guess it can't be helped. It's not that I don't like ballads, but this one does nothing to me beside making me want to skip it.

The last sentence lmfao. This is so true. Also why I never follow San Remo. It's a bit too snotty for me. Besides, who cares whether anyone else's opinions are sophisticated. Mine aren't. As they should be :)

I suppose to have to listen to Diodato now. Oh well.

Yeah... I can’t say I’m not disappointed. I expected much more from Italy after Mahmood. It’s not bad. The singer has a nice voice, but it just leaves me cold. I don’t even know what to say about this one.

Edit:
I don’t watch San Remo (who has time for that?!), but If it is true that they had much better and trying to prevent them from becoming popular because of some idiotic conservative views, then I hope this song ends somewhere in the bottom.

Italy has started to become an interesting country where you never know what to expect. And this is slightly different to the previous songs they sent though. The verses feel very 90s indie, a little Oasis even, but the song still has a strong Italian schlagerfeel to it. I like it, not sure how well it will do, but it is very competent, pretty beutiful and touches me emotionally in some way. Good job Italy, you keep up the good work. (y)

I had that feeling about a lot of songs in the past - not specifically regarding Sanremo. Then again I say to myself: how could I ever judge if people really like that or just want to come across as having an exquisite taste? But I know exactly what you mean.

I've listened too Fai Rumore.

This is boring.

But also this is the exact sort of SHOUTY, LOUD power ballad poeple here would like (sorry. Pretend to like) if the singer were a beautiful blonde woman, so....

An easy :4:

I woke up tired, and just when i thought this is a gentle song that puts me back to sleep, he belts it out and I shrieked. This song is 10 minutes too long, has boring verses and an obnoxious chorus. It‘s a bye from me!

I like it a lot actually on first listen, but there’s trouble on the horizon. It’s just going to have serous trouble reeling in the voters even if you have the proper bait for them. There are bound to be entries that are just going to crush Italy by being better at slow power ballads, or better at looking like the class act, better at hot middle-aged man, etc etc. This song doesn’t cry for attention or instantly captivate. But the song tells me a story through emotion and with good staging this can turn into something that will not just leak its votes away. No clue if they can get that done, Italy tends to be a negative at staging its stuff.

Sanremo had better options, to be honest. Any other one of the top 3 was a better option than Diodato, tbh. But this is Italy and the song will grow on me eventually.

So my favourite was Elodie but second favourite was Diodato so I’m pretty pleased. The juries are gonna eat this up and it’s going to be a contender to win the whole thing I think.

Good morning guys
Calm down, the jury voted like this.
This is Sanremo and this song Italy liked.
You must always remember that Sanremo is a separate contest, we do not vote for the song for Eurovision but for the song that has been liked by the Italian public for 70 years.
It is useless that every year you repeat that the song that wins is not perfect to win the Eurovision, whoever participates in sanremo wants to win sanremo and enter the history of the Festival.

I haven't heard to the song. I see some ppl don't like it. Why do u think that hurry would vote for it if the public isn't thrilled. Jurry for the long time doesn't vote for quality. They vote for countries if u know what I mean. There is neighbour voting with hurries as well. Por dios, they voted for generic mans over gagarina, grande amore and Estonian duo.

PS if Italia ends 2nd again, I'm sure they will withdraw and never again come to esc.

Could be, but I still don’t like the song. Italian people could love it all they want, I still don’t. A song is a song. And the song IS going to Eurovision eventually, so why can’t we discuss it in that context? It is a Eurovision forum; not a San Remo one.
