THE GOOD:
-He sings well.
-It's a pretty composition.

THE BAD:
-I'll be honest, it's not my cup of tea.

THE VERDICT:
This song is decent but boring. It might be in the Final already, but for right now, this is my "bathroom break" song. 6 points

The best part is that when you said that to me I assumed you meant this guy.

I spent almost five days thinking you were a Riki fan.

"Wow. What a genius."
-My mother, probably, after hearing this drivel

Over the last 20 years, four individuals over the age of 35 have won the contest. Per capita, that's a higher percentage than the number of people of that age group in last years Final. So yes, you are using anecdotal evidence to justify this ageist statement. Anyway, I'm done here.

No need to be upset over not even serious statements. Ageist I am not, but EBU is pushing for 18-35 demographics (as is usual with every major tv production expanding onto 15-49) as of mid 00s and especially since 2010. Seasoned (regardless of their age) artists (which after Sertab's win were demanded) haven't achieved many wins over newbies and mostly talent show produced youth.

Solomon's solution. I like Gabbani and Pinguini more, this is also good, but Mahmood was full of potential, and this almost fulfilled it. Lower half of top 10 is realistic, with bigger jury vote than tele.

So Italy, if you want victory, pick Annalisa with any genre. It is simple. You have Irama also. This year belongs to someone else (Iceland)?.

Well at least it wasn’t Gabbani in the end, and this result is what Italy deserves for doing Elodie dirty all through the competition.

"Fai rumore" is a solid ballad, imo maybe one of the best choices in this NF. I need a bit more time to get into it - I believe this is a lot better than what I think about the song atm.

There are many good things to say about "Fai rumore" but my main concern is that it's too long for my average standards of a ballad and that makes the song a bit boring, but I'm confident the shortened version will be better. I'm not sure if I like where & how the song peaks, in this kind of ballads that's the thing I value the most.

I'm not really into his tone but apart from that he is a good vocalist, there is still room for improvements though.

It's a solid one imo, but I'm pretty sure this will grow on me. Also solid :6: points from me!

lo sappiamo entrambi is better than fai rumore, not that it takes a lot to be better than "describe an italian song in under 15 seconds and i will write a song based on your description"

the best looking man of sanremo though was anastasio and i fully recognise the Issues i might have by acknowledging that #disastergay

My disappointment is immense. Sanremo is often plagued with many a dull, dated, slightly pretentious ballad so it was inevitable that they would eventually choose one, but the past few years Italy has been among my favorites and Rancore, in particular, was one that would fit that mold, so it's a bit more painful to be absolutely indifferent to an Italian entrant. At least Marco was pretty. 5 points

I went for 10 points in the poll. I won't get too ahead of myself here. My top nine of this Sanremo would have received insta 12s and dear old Diodato was my tenth favourite in what perhaps could have been my favourite selection from any country ever since I've been following this stuff. It was that good. I do very much like the winning song. I think it's charming. With each listen the heart grows fonder. You've picked a doll, Italy. Nice job.

I’m neither happy nor disappointed, I feel kinda meh about the song. It’s not amazing but it’s not bad either. And that’s exactly the problem, I really don’t seem to care about it much. I wouldn’t mute the tv but I wouldn’t pick up the phone etc... you get what I mean.
But in the end I’m more disappointed by the fact that Italy seems to sleep on amazing young female singers like Elodie and Annalisa. I fear I won’t ever see them at Eurovision
Oh and I’m so sorry for everyone who had to stay up until 3 in the morning! I’m 7 hours behind and I still almost fell asleep halfway through. You’ve got all my respect!

There is a big whiff of misogyny when it comes to Sanremo....it’s like the female acts are there as tokens rather than real competitors. They have a massive uphill battle from the very start compared to their male counterparts.

I liked Andromeda better, but I think this might do okay - if the people who loved Arcade last year are still fond of men with pianos and big voices.
