Dw hun it's nothing official. But since Sertab only humans in their 20s early 30s won.

No that many singers over the age of 35 are taking part. Tom Hugo was 39, won the televote last year. There is no real data, besides anecdotal evidence, indicating that you can't win if you are over the age of 35.

So it's confirmed hes going to esc?

mmm, well Italy wont be one to worry much about then. It's not a bad song, but I just find it extremely dated and uninteresting. It sounds like any other Italian ballad. Another 5 pointer to the pile.

Well EBU proved winning televote doesn't mean much. ;) I meant as overall winners ofc. Nothing anecdotal about that fact. Diodato is 38 seems and acts as if he is on the brink of 50.

I'm putting it on 5 pts and 4 pts now. As much as I love ballads this doesn't invest on me on first listen.

Yay!

Really like this. I sheepishly told @RainyWoods after hearing it a few days ago "Help me I like some floaty Italian bullshit by a dully hot man," and it's grown on me even since then.

8 or 10, and apparently now I can vote for both?! What?!

When can we expect the obligatory "Is ESC 2020 the worst?"?

As a frequent participant and inciter of this line of thinking, I am happy to say that I will not be starting that thread this year xheat

Over the last 20 years, four individuals over the age of 35 have won the contest. Per capita, that's a higher percentage than the number of people of that age group in last years Final. So yes, you are using anecdotal evidence to justify this ageist statement. Anyway, I'm done here.

It’s a solid choice - groundbreaking, no, but solid. I haven’t been following Sanremo - can someone explain why this is getting so much hate?

What I really like about Fai rumore is the retro dream pop element that's there in the very distant background but doesn't make itself fully known until we reach the instrumental bridge part with the Ooooo's and the achingly beautiful melancholy of those weeping synths. It's really taking us to the Twin Peaks Roadhouse bar for a slow emotional dance as fog covers the woods outside with a body wrapped in plastic on the side of a river near by. There's mystery in it and a darkness, but we're given a release if just for a moment. It's actually perhaps my favourite sound ever. Bands like Chromatics, Beach House etc I can give my body over to fully when they are in this mood. This element that Fai rumore's possesses really stops it from being yet another big sounding Italian ballad that's huge and with great production values, but kind of not doing much. This one is doing something a bit extra for me.

Fai rumore is totally my thing. It's just being presented to me in a bit of a bigger, more grander way than I'm used to which perhaps made it more difficult for me to instantly go "this is the stuff" at first. I think this is the stuff though, and despite there being nine other songs I wanted more, and warmed towards quicker, Diodato is a really lovely choice. Not such a bad ending at least for me after all.

I feel like I could actually hand over a 12 even right about now (certainly 10) which is ridiculous as I was literally stupidly peeved when the top 3 was announced. This should teach me not to be so dramatic in future and slow down a bit to think. I liked this song from the moment I heard it even. I had hope left.

Justice for Rancore though. Robbed king of Italian hip hop. Will sue.

The best part is that when you said that to me I assumed you meant this guy.

I spent almost five days thinking you were a Riki fan.
