Ok, I'll give "Soldi" 6 points for now.

I should be thankful Mahmood saved me from results I wouldn't have cared about at all (Il Volo... what the heck?) - and he was in my top 5 in the end - but I don't love the song, and I lowkey fear I may get tired of it really quickly.

With that being said, the positive aspect of this victory is that this choice stands out from the traditional Italian Eurovision efforts: it's modern, it's got an unusual beat and rhythm, as well as a special atmosphere. I'm confident it'll be successful in Tel Aviv as there won't be anything similar-sounding. It's instant and viewers will groove for certain.

Personally, I'm not sure it'll end up being my kind of jam. As AshleyWright said, there is no valleys and troughs for me to dig it entirely. So it's unlikely Italy will be among my favourites.

Nonetheless, good luck to Mahmood! :)

I'm very happy to have discovered Loredana, she easily would have been my number one. But oh well, she got the support of the public, which is the most precious prize for an artist come to think of it. I won't stop playing "Cosi Ti Aspetti Da Me" on repeat. xheart

i was so focused on the top betting odds contenders that i listened to soldi exactly once and left it behind despite it being good. with the strange results we had i am glad something good won and mainly that ultimo's "disgruntled kpop idol that sues his label"-looking ass lost. i mean he likely would pass on eurovision anyway but yknow just the principle of not wanting a bad song to win. soldi works better in studio than in the sanremo stage, which is just as well because eurovision doesn't have an orchestra. and it's only 3min15s!!! it will barely even have a cut. onwards and upwards, italy. 10 points. juries better not leave italy for dead this year, this is sleek and modern.

lighting a candle for my dear prince irama though. he would most likely be the Cute Boy in Alaska's Avatar of the year. there is always next year.

I wonder, will the televoters in Europe go for this? Italy certainly didn't, so it's an interesting discussion.

OKay, I love the studio version, didn't listen to it before, idk why it completely passed me by in the lives though, I guess I was more invested in the more emotionally poignant/classically Sanremo songs (and too invested in Ultimo xshifty). I'm not mad anymore. It's a great song.  It's a very refreshing quality sound, I'm completely obsessed with the production and the chorus, and it's something new for Italy and for Sanremo and perhaps even Eurovision (have a similar feeling with it like I did with Aminata in 2015, except I fell for her song immediately). An amazing choice tbh.

Not totally my cup of tea but not bad! There are bits of the song I really like and bits I don't lol. I give Italy 8 points at the moment but I think it could grow on me.

In my view, Il Volo could go to Eurovision any year they wanted as far as they have the right song. This song was not going to top their third place finish from 2015. Them finishing top 3 tonight should be enough to not discourage them, but send the message of picking a ESC potential winner whenever they try for Sanremo again.

I think my heart is going to be broken for a long time over this. Hearing her song hurts right now:(

I think Loredana knows how loved she is though. Multiple standing ovations over the week with a full house of them tonight. She's made my Eurovision 2019 NF season.

I would have preferred Paola Turci taking the stage. I could literally feel it through her voice. But Mahmood is great too.

Okay. I've ripped off my Loredana Band-aid (say it out loud; it's assonant and catchy). This song is actually really good.

Up-voting to 10.

(EDIT: OH. DRAG QUEEN IDEA. LOREDANA BAND-AID. She performs all her numbers in a Hello Nurse outfit and a blue wig. This has to happen I've decided)

So I never listened to this because I couldn't be bothered with Sanremo outside of the favorites, and what a pleasant surprise. I have to say that I pretty much love this? I find this so much more preferable to the majority of the favorites (especially Ultimo and, surprisingly, even Loredana, who was also good.) Just a very unique and well put-together entry which is infectious to listen to while lacking the pretension of most Sanremo entries. Thank GOD this came in through the backdoor and slayed Ultimo.

i am glad i didn't watch this live because being goaded into believing loredana could win it all for her to even miss the superfinal must have hurt like an abusive ex-boyfriend. find a shelter for your heart, you guys.
